Yabba dabba do – go me (if that’s not too modest) – i figured it out. Got the tag line to show on my theme. Have also added a couple of pages, got the widgets working (as they should) and put some coloured text in (it was pasted LOL). Couple of other things to figure out yet but may be answered in part 2 of the Learn to Blog webinar.

I learnt a couple of awesome new things which is really exciting. Even if you have a bit of experience with something I think that it’s always good to go back through the motions again & learn from those that are experienced because the more times you do something the better you get at it! Really great tutorial for beginners that are keen to Learn and Earn : )
… and you might learn a better way to do something! Or even perhaps a quicker way.
I agree, it’s a great way to re-cap what I have learned already and to make sure I am doing it in the best possible way

Having a bit of ‘fun’ trying to wrap the text round the photo. I have set a wordpress blog up for my son and it’s working ok there but for some reason not in my uwc blog. wordpress has upload/insert images etc where uwc has add media. not sure if it configures it differently. guess i’ll keep working on it. if anyone has any ideas on that, they would be welcome.
The configuration should be the same Bernadette. If you are having problems with images, first thing to try is a different theme. Some themes are a bit “buggy”.

I am having the same issue. My other blogs are ok.
Sometimes certain themes do funny things.
So far I have resized, removed adsense code, used different images and changed themes but still not the same.
I am working through with the YOTA zodiacs, so when I get it resolved I will let you know.

I’ve finally cracked it.
It is a theme issue. I finally found some themes where it worked. It took me a while as I was also after one with a customised header.
Just try different themes.

It is now working okay on the theme I had. I had created another page and was inserting the image in there. That is where the text was starting at bottom of image. Quite by accident I went into my blog as went to insert an image and worked but what I was doing was inserting it in a post rather than in the text on an individual page. My plan is to leave the posts page for articles and bits and have a separate page with the main product info. Hope you follow what I mean.
Thanks Gee. Pleased to know it might not be me. I was trying every which way and getting the same result. I ended up taking the picture out and just leaving the text. Maybe I’ll try a couple of other themes with customisable headers. What is the name of the theme you used above?
As it’s free (and certainly appreciate that) just a case of swings and round-a-bouts – and a bit more time playing round to find the one that suits best.

I decided on Contempt for the time being. I’m not completely happy with it but at least it will allow me to publish. I will continue looking and see where I end up.
I can’t get the bottom adsense ads to show up but that’s for another time.

how do you remove the ads?
The ads are part of the free blog Bernadette. They cannot be removed, however you can earn money from them by inserting your adsense code into the advertising plugin settings. More on that at a later stage

What a great opportunity for the first timers to get a blog up and running! Some of it is so simple but until you have been shown and you have actually physically done it, it always seems difficult. These step by step videos were definitely a gap in the market that you recognized Sean Well done

Funny…even though Sean had posted the wrong link (which he later corrected), it didn’t even matter as every webinar that he does is great and (like Jeremy said), there is something to be learnt from every single one.
