Hey Sean,

Thanks for the great webinar!

This definitely gave me an insight into Affiliate Marketing that I hadn’t even considered. I had heard of Clickbank in the past, and had tried looking at a few products there, but nothing really grabbed my attention at the time. As well, from my previous experience with the Gurus, I figured the only other Affiliate Marketing options were their programs. It came nowhere close to dawning on me that I could consider companies and business here in Australia that I was actually familiar with. Thanks again!

Just a light globe! ;-)

Cheers,

Pete

Hi Sean,

Fantastic webinar tonight. I learned a lot about affiliate marketing that I didn’t know. So, I’ve got a busy weekend ahead trying to find products that I’d actually love to promote.

I agree with you. I think it will be a lot easier to promote a product or service that you love. Also, thanks for spending the time to get the recording up last night.:)

Hi Sean,
I agree, choosing to promote a product in a niche that is a passion or interest, certainly does make its easier when you are learning the ropes.
There are that many products & niches to promote out there, everyone is bound to find a product that suits them.
My two key learnings out of the webinar are:
1. More detail KW research in the front end of the promoting a product.
2. Avoid affiliate programs that aren’t well equipped to support your needs as marketer. There are many alternatives.

Hi Sean,
The affiliate products that I started out with were bringing in only small amounts and they were not anything that I was interested in. Just trying to make some dollars! Now, I am getting it-you have to like what you are selling! I will be changing strategies now and looking to different markets. Thanks for the lesson Sean :-)

Thanks for the straightforward overview about learning affiliate marketing. I’d never heard of the Google affiliate program before. Given the affiliate market is exploding with growth (14% this year!) things can only get better. Thanks for putting us at the forefront of knowledge.

Hi Sean,
As Helen above has said – another quality webinar.
And Cade’s summation pretty well describes the points that were highlighted for me. That products are abundant, and that the only choices in that regard are limited only by our own passion for something, seems to me to be the very great attraction of this whole concept of Affiliate Marketing.
Thank you.

Just watched the webinar from last night. Sorry that I was not able to watch it live, but the effect wasn’t diminished by having to wait until it was online.
I don’t know what I’ve let myself in for. The ideas are so good, so many and so far reaching that I think I will have to go lie down for a bit to absorb all the information.
My only complaint is that you make it sound so very easy and I know somehow in my water that it won’t turn out to be all that effortless.
However, watch out because here I come.

Hooray – I finally got to catch up on the Learn Affiliate Marketing webinar from Friday!.. I was glad to hear of a few more affiliate networks to check into, as I’ve only ever really looked at Clickbank, Amazon & briefly at Commission Junction.

It’s also great as an affiliate to be able to leverage on big names like Target, who may retail things like Apple products, which I read recently may be more difficult to promote as an individual – as Apple got snakey about who they will allow to sell their computers, ipads, etc..

I will certainly be looking at the other affiliate networks, doing more research on my niches & reviewing what I am currently doing – all while trying to avoid the ‘Internet Marketing Inundation’ syndrome! Information overload is my biggest creativity killer..

Such a smart move to revise and revisit – especially as I didn’t join the competition at the start.

The affiliate marketing thing still had me puzzled. It was a new term and concept and I just couldn’t grasp it.

In my revise I found the above webinar, that I missed, about learning affiliate marketing. Well blow me if it didn’t explain what it was, benefits for merchant and affiliate.

Watching this has posed a couple of questions. I’ve started myself a list to follow up on and which may become clearer in the rest of the revision or coming webinars.

Reply

Sarah Butland July 18, 2010 at 2:30 am

I’m definitely going back and revising my blogs at the first chance I get. I’ve already started writing my new blogs like Sean has recommended. I’m also trying to figure out how best to start my affiliate marketing campaign to be most effective.

If you do have questions feel free to ask them along the way. You may get them answered later but you may be missing so much while searching for that specific answer.

Bernadette July 4, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Here’s a couple of points I’ve picked out so far. They are in line with my current philosophies.

Selling, not for exchange of money but because you are passionate about the product. Just like Sean talking in the first video, you can hear the passion and that is what sells the product because they are taking on your belief.

Caring more about the customer than the dollars you earn means they’ll trust you, you will sell them the product because it’s right for them and they will return for more or take a closer look at something else you have.

Customers are people who come and buy once. Clients are customers who return to buy.

Even if the merchant is responsible for following up the customer and there is no immediate comeback to you, you should still sell the product because you believe in it. What comes back to the merchant will impact his trust to have you continuing to promote his/her product. Would you sell it to yourself?

Reply

Sarah Butland July 4, 2010 at 9:34 pm

Very wise advice once again Bernadette. A couple of years ago my husband got together with a friend to make a mint online and decided to do it through World of Warcraft. The problem was, and we all saw it but they did nothing to change it, that neither of them ever played the game.

They sold a couple of their ebooks (affiliate products) but didn’t make back what time and money they invested in it. And, a couple of weeks after putting tons of effort into it, they forgot about it.

I plan to find an affiliate product I know and love (my own site lists the books I’ve read and loved) so that I continue learning about what I love while making money.

Thanks so much Sean. I have actually learn much more about Affiliate Marketing in this one hour tonight, and even better, understood what I was listening to, than I have learnt in countless hours of videos and talks over the past 12 months.

Hi Sean,
I probably should have an affiliate product by now after all these months. Although I do have YOYA and YOTB Until now I’ve not felt experienced enough to market them.

This may change very soon.
