Theres lots of handy info here that I can glean. Once I claim my blog do I have to be ranked lower than 100,000 before it will graph my data. Currently I’m ranked 1,428,947.

Escape from Alexa (or as Sean said Escape to Alexa) was an action packed adventure. With Alexa barrels blazing we got the six chambers worth. As I picked myself up out of the dirt from that, Sean Eastwood had already reloaded. I was left reeling from the blast.
Wow Bernadette, I didn’t see you do that , I must have been on the wrong channel. Do you think you could do that again and video it next time? (lol)

@Jeremy i know how that is! I think that each night when we bring up sr.com we just don’t know enough to do much on the blog, well we do but it detracts from the time we could be learning and there is such limited time to grasp all this amazing info and help while you can!
You’ve picked up Peter correctly, the lower the better. If you get on to a way to drop your Alexa ranking down to 10, let alone 6, would you be kind enough to share it with me?
Although I hadn’t thought about it as you’ve expressed I think that sums of me to – gleaning as much as I can in the short time the competition is on and go back and pay more attention to the extras after it has finished.
I don’t have a lot of time (especially ‘robbing’ Peter). Having the feedback and help from Sean and the more experienced people here now cannot be got back later.
Yes Clem. The lower the number in Alexa the better – under 100,000 and you will get stats and a graph. In the other hand, Google’s Page rank – the higher you go is better – it’s also only out of 10 – so PR of 3-5 is more than ok. You have to be one of the big boys to be up 7+

Peter is right. Once you start doing some work on your site, it will drop dramatically. Mine was 8 000 000 before I started getting serious now its around 980 000 within a few months. Also the Aust rank is around 47000.

I made the same mistake with commenting on the wrong post for registering on Alexa and LinkedIn and eventually got there with some guidance from Cherie so that the rules of the competition could be followed.
I have learned from the mistake and have paid closer attention to detail as you will now I’m sure.
When you are initially trying to take it all in, it is easy to miss. I know because I’ve been there.
More than happy to help.
BTW – The kids enjoy vegemite so maybe I’ve been absorbing it too, enhancing my vegemite abilities!! Boy did I need them for the Alexa webinar yesterday. They will need a recharge after that one.

I have just gone to the Alexa to review another of Sean’s sites and can’t find my one on Stock market Education anywhere. Does it take a while to show up? I noticed other reviews in other sections dated the 14th (the date I wrote one).

I looked into it a bit further for you with your reviews. One review you did was for Sean’s site the other site that you reviewed is not Sean’s – .com and .com.au are different owners.
That is a vary good point to mention Cherie. I would like to highlight it further.
I went to do my review on Alexa today and had typed in .com on the end. As I have for the other review I opened the website I wanted to review to refresh myself and found it was .net.

Hi Cherie – is it in American time? as I did one around 8pm Perth time last night and the other at 2am (Perth time) this morning – these would then fall int he same 24 hour period for Pacific Time – thought I was ok with it being different calendar days here – didnt think about a conflict with American time.
Friday 15 July – I have just written a review on Alexa for Black Running Shoes. Definitely worth a look if you’re into running.
Just did my first review at Alexa (says it’s processing) for seanrasmussen.com, since this is where I spend most of my time trying to absorb Sean’s marketing info, like a sponge!
I’m looking forward to doing some tinkering on Alexa too, checking stats on MANY sites of interest – I still can’t believe how deep you can dig for info.. Those of us further down the point tally don’t mind you guys taking a couple of days off. I put pulled my finger out and did a couple of hours work the other night and have been really surprised of the impact it made – even though there is NO WAY I could even come close to the top line of contenders – let alon Jazz who is doing so brilliantly well and surging ahead!
Keep trying Jayne, that way you will come across really good articles – which is the reward I am getting.

It takes a bit of time to add comments that are relevant and add value and I gain value from others who take the time to do that too. Having said that I do enjoy the odd light-hearted remark.
I might be in the top 10 and while I’m back a bit back from contending the top spot I am thinking never say never. I am extremely happy with my achievement in the main because I started with zero knowledge about any of this and here I am amongst and associating with people who already have experience doing this.

Before the Alexa webinar I thought it was just a list of sites that are on the internet and really just giving info on the main ones. I did try to figure a bit more on it myself – and spent a bit of time doing so.
However I know see some of that time would have been spent better doing other things and getting the gen on the webinar. It certainly showed how to use it PROPERLY and great how you can check what other sites are doing along with your competitors to help improve your own ranking.
Hi Sean , I’m not sure if I left a post last week that I added Alexa to my list of addresses, now my browsers were deleted some how and wiped out all my bookmarks and history so am attempting to reconstruct everything again , it looks like I’m doing my tax here with a big box of sticky notes
Doesn’t that just kill you when the gremlins attack! Hope you can get it all back up successfully. This reminds me to get an external hard drive to back up everything!
I have recently for an external hard drive as even though I backed up on DVD found that gremlins had attacked. I have now escaped them with my external drive and it gives you the ability to have more information in one place that is easier to access.
You can get software of the net that is great for managing backups that save space etc. SyncToy is one I got recommended by an IT friend.
I really feel for you Tony- I know that so much of “my life” is on my computer and I am not as diligent as I should be in backing up. I hope it doesnt take you too long to recover your files. From reading Sean’s post this is one of the reasons why the social bookmarking sites were established!

Dohhhhh – I’ve just checked to see if my previous Alexa reviews for seanrasmussen.com & seanseo.com had appeared (from Fri-Sat) but they haven’t…
I noticed a few other comments about reviews not appearing, so I thought I’d better check, in case I’d done something wrong. My universalwealthcreation.com review appeared within a few minutes, so I’m not sure what the problem was with the first two?..
I’m saving notepad copies (BLESS the computer copy-paste function!!) so I will try to add the lost reviews onto their respective Alexa pages later today, if that’s OK Cherie?
I had some comments that didn’t show up on Alexa. I think the issue with mine were that I may have had a URL in the title or in the main comment box.
I put a question in the forum about my comments not showing up and Don replied with this. Obviously my vegemite eyes weren’t working as well as they could have.

Did you embed the URL within the review? I think when the Alexa system processes the review it throws away any that have anything that looks like a URL in the text.
My first review had the URL enclosed in parentheses and it did not appear. Since then I’ve written two more, making sure I didn’t include the URL and they both appeared immediately. And the instructions under the edit box specifically mention no URL in the review.

And THANKS Bernadette & Don – I did make the mistake of having the URL just as seanseo.com first time around, so changed to SeanSEO in the final post, same for SR.com review. I thought it wouldn’t stand out as a URL with the prefix “http” or “www” missing – many filters don’t pick that up… Cheers!

Goodness me. I enjoyed a day at an agricultural exhibition/trade show today – well a new sort of enjoyment anyway. I used to go to check out the new toys I might like to play with; you know, like the tractors, pumps, tanks and sheds, the visiting exhibitors and arts and crafty things, and all good stuff. (When I tell the kids “I’m going to Heaven, do you want to come?” – they hide, ’cause they don’t want to spend a day at the hardware warehouses. I don’t understand it, myself… but there it is!) This time I discovered I had a pen and paper on hand, scribbling notes on which companies I might be wanting to promote; seeing ways and opportunities all over the place. My life will never be the same again. They say you know you are assimilating a new language when you start dreaming in that language. Time to claim my citizen-ship in Marketing, I think. Hmmm. I delighted myself so much I had to share!

However for the points fairy may have to look out for a review from squiblet. Somehow must have been logged in under my psuedonym.

Just in regard to the posts not showing. You probably haven’t lost your mind. You may have used a URL somewhere in the comment or title. Alexa doesn’t like that and retaliates by not showing the post.

I agree with Peter, when one is scanning info, comprehension gets lost. There is some wisdom in the request for once per day submissions. A word of explanation.
The site that I created prior to rejoining here last month is http://www.viadobbsfranks.com. You will see from this site why I am not happy with it. I think it needs major work. So, I put my tail between my legs and came back to YOTA which I had left in August last year (another long story). You are welcome to have a look at this site and if so inclined do a review.
The site that I have begun and is new and unfinished at the moment, but have done it with the LCM book at my side and the help of the zodiacs at every stumble. I am not pleased with the theme, but am going to work on the site and when it is more or less really ready will change the theme to something far more attractive. It is http://www.bathroominhome.com. I will be interested to read your reaction to this which is not personal as much as an attempt to write a money making site having done my version of keyword research etc.
The only other thing I can offer, if I haven’t worn you out completely by now, is my personal blog, which needs updating badly, but I find that 24 hour days just aren’t long enough. So, if you are interested, it it http://www.dobbsfranks.com.

I am not sure about things tonight. I think it may be a bit of jetlag. But I am confused as to whether I should submit my reviews etc of tonight here or on Rank ‘em High. I am submitted them on Rank ‘em High. However, when I hit submit it disappeared, so I did it again and the same thing happened.
So just to make sure that I not only am confused myself but I also can confuse you I am going to repeat what I have commented on (but seems to be in the ether) on Rank ‘em High.
Tonight I joined Melbourne Pizza Delivery and commented on Facebook Fanpages and Internet Marketing.
I reviewed, also tonight, on Alexa uwcblog.com, ringsarounduranus, universalwealthcreation.com and universalwealthcreation.com.au.
Previously on 21 July I had reviewed on Alexa perfectonlinevision (webvision2020) so I did not submit another one. If you would like a second one I will happily oblige, but felt it better not to try to slip anything by Cherie.

First off, you go to Rank ‘Em High blog post to say you have reviewed the additional sites on Alexa and secondly if you put your UWC URL in the website box it will continue to go in the spam folder and then Sean has to retrieve from there. If he has loads then he may miss it.
Big tick for your comment on the Facebook Fanpages and Internet Marketing.
I’m sure there are a number of us who have already done a review on Alexa for sites like Webvision 2020. I don’t think Alexa would allow you to do another review anyway. If you’ve already done one the link says Edit Your Review rather than Write A Review.
I would still mention it in the comment on Rank ‘Em High that it has been reviewed.
