Aussie Internet Marketing Kids In Streaky Bay

by Sean Rasmussen on January 23, 2009

Aussie Internet Marketing KidsThis week I took my 2 sons to Streaky Bay in South Australia to visit family. Today I realised that I have Aussie Internet Marketing Kids. They live and breathe my stuff and take it in their stride. So, while at the beach today, I asked them if they wanted to make a YouTube Video for me.

Sure thing, Dad! We thought you’d never ask!”

So I got out my camera and filmed a few little snippets. Timothy filmed and James, well he was just himself… being a little ratbag Aussie Internet Marketing Kid having a ball at the beach.

Aussie Internet Marketing Kids In Streaky Bay

I was planning to film a short video in Streaky Bay about my upcoming workshops. Timothy filmed me in this video.

I removed this video [there was one here]. It is no longer relevant, so I’ll turn over the attention to Timothy and James in the below video instead. This is their first go at being Aussie Internet Marketing Kids.

What Do The Internet Marketing Kids Think?

It was the kids turn to star in the video. Being budding little internet marketing stars, they made their YouTube debut today in Streaky Bay. I asked them to say whatever they wanted to – And they did! They gave Dad’s book a big wrap: Year Of The Affiliate. In their own way…

Putting Streaky Bay On The Map

These little Aussie internet marketing kids have now put Streaky Bay on the map of success in their minds. They love Streaky Bay and this is where their Uncle and Grandmother lives. We make the drive across the Nullarbor every year to visit our family. It’s great to see the innocence of kids and how they can turn anything into fun. We can learn a lot from them.

Have a most outstanding day

That’s gold. That would have cost my dad $5 to say that about him!

Thanks guys! I posted this last night, the same day as I filmed with the kids. Today, I drove 930 km with the kids to the Adelaide airport (I missed my turnoff and added 230km to the trip…). We are all in Perth now and Cherie is very happy to see us!

That brought back many happy memories! We lived for several years in Streaky Bay and its a wonderful place for raising a young family.
Just curious – since you had to go through SA, was there a particular reason that Adelaide wasn’t on the list for a workshop?
Wishing you all a great Australia Day.

Hi Andrea
A workshop like this takes a lot of planning. For every hour on stage, there is 4-5 hours of planning and logistics involved. It is also very costly to arrange and hold. The trip to Adelaide was a holiday and I wouldn’t have seen my mother in Streaky Bay if I had put a workshop on in Adelaide.
Hopefully we can do one on Adelaide soon.

Funny Stuff – your kids are great. We have just been to Streaky Bay ourselves after making the long trip across the Nullarbor. Gorgeous little town and great beaches. We are now sweltering in the 46 degree heat of Adelaide in our camper trailer as we continue our great Aussie adventure across this amazing country of ours.

Thank you Sean (and Shaun)for giving so much valuable information this last weekend during the Smart Systems Internet marketing seminar.I appreciated the presentation, atmosphere created by all present, your generosity in giving information , and learned heaps… though so much info was given that I am a bit overloaded and confused at this moment.
My spirits have been lifted.

Great to see you had a ball with your kids and wife in Streaky Bay.
Sean this is where my son Corey got his first song he wrote from, that won him a trip to Nashville from entering the Telstra road to Tamworth competition. Yep this is where his car broke down and the Song Bad Luck With The Good was born. Great memories.

Hi Sean,

Timothy and James look like they’re having a great time. You should definitely use them in future promotions for your work because they’re so cute and funny; people wouldn’t be able to resist buying from them. :)

Although I’m currently promoting my book indirectly through reading I cannot recommend using kids to sell things directly. I just look at the commercials, or better yet beauty pageants with children and wonder who is living their dream – the child or the parent through their child. My main focus with the picture I’m using is that young children can be interested in books and should be. That it was my own children’s book makes me incredibly proud but William’s expression to a book was what made me enter his picture into a contest.

Your boys are so cute and Timothy already looks to be so comfortable in front of the camera, the “hyper” one seems to be more comfortable running :) It’s a tremendous feeling – having kids believe in you. When my four month old looks at me and smiles I just know I’m doing something right. When he watches his father pace while on the phone and smiles at him every time he enters the room we’re in – it’s amazing. We don’t need others to tell us we’re good parents, we can just look at our son and you can look at yours.

I have been to Streaky Bay a few times, mostly just to pass through on my way to somewhere else. Once I stayed on a farm there for a week. I flew kites with my son in one of the paddocks. 2 eagles took an interest in our kites and hovered overhead. So we joined all the strings together and flew one kite as high as we could, maybe 100 metres. The eagles circled with curiosity, and seemed to realize that the kite wasn’t alive, and flew away. When the weather is right the bay at Streaky Bay looks streaky.
