Fancy A Ride?

July 4th, 2008

The Kiwi’s would have to make the best commercials in the world. As their beer commercials wouldn’t quite pass the rating of this blog, I’ll stick to a Toyota Hilux add instead. You may remember the YouTube video recently about the Perceived Illusion, where 3 Kiwi’s are having a Spoon Race… Well, here’s a New Zealand Hilux advert. Aussie advertisers can learn a few tricks from the Kiwi’s. Enjoy!

Fancy A Ride?

Where’s the motivational message in this? I’ve got no idea! You tell me in the comments section. :D

The Perceived Illusion

May 9th, 2008

Someone once said: Life is 1% perception and 99% perspiration. I tend to think it’s a little different to that. We can perceive things as pleasure or pain depending on what we see, hear or feel. A magician, or illusionist, will make us see something and contort our thoughts into thinking something else is happening.

Have a look at this video and see what is going through this guys brain when he encounters the “illusion”. Prepare to laugh!

The Perceived Illusion

I had to pick myself up off the floor after seeing this one. I hope you enjoyed this one as much as I did. I’d say this guy is experiencing 100% perception and 500% pain.

Peter Bland - The Ice Man

March 15th, 2008

Peter Bland. The Ice Man and arctic adventurerMy good friend, Peter Bland is The Ice Man. He is the first Australian to reach the North Magnetic Pole in 1998 and the first to venture both to the north and south magnetic poles. His courage and abundance mentality has brought him through conditions and aversity that lesser men would have folded under. In 1996, he navigated a team to the South Magnetic Pole. In 2000, he was honored to raise the Australian flag of Sir Douglas Mawson on the North Magnetic Pole, that was raised by Sir Douglas himself on the South Pole nearly 100 years earlier.

What Makes Peter Bland Remarkable?

Peter Bland was born with a hole in his heart. At the age of 8, he survived open heart surgery. His trek to the North Pole was undertaken only 12 months after his 2nd major bout of open heart surgery. In order to get funds to go to the north pole, “Blandy” got a sponsorship from an underwear company: Mitch Dowd Boxer Shorts. Check out this funny video, filmed on the Magnetic North Pole.

Disaster On The Antarctic Peninsula

With the North Pole behind him, Peter was ready for his next adventure. Peter and his friend, Jay Watson, set out to cross the Antarctic peninsula, unsupported. On the very last day of the journey, Peter Bland was swept away by an avalanche, into a crevasse. Falling the equivalent of 14 stories, Peter suffered massive injuries. For 3 days, Jay Watson lay on top of Peter to keep him warm and alive until rescuers arrived. Thanks to his friends persistence, Peter is still alive today.

Remarkable Facts About Peter Bland

These are some remarkable facts that come to mind about my mate: “Blandy”

  1. Peter Bland has successfully raised over $14 Million dollars for charity
  2. He has produced 2 television documentaries
  3. He is the first Australian to the North Magnetic Pole
  4. He has survived 2 major bouts of open heart surgery and carried on as normal
  5. Peter founded Adventure Odyssey, where he takes people to Antarctica on lifetime adventures with his thrillionaire mate: Nik Halik
  6. Peter is now a successful public speaker, motivating people with stories of his adventures.

The Ice Man Meets His Nemesis: Whiskey The Ram

A few months ago, Peter repaid a favor to me by doing a 1,5 hour presentation of his motivational adventures to my sons grade 5 class. They had a ball. Here is a video with Peter, filmed on my property in Western Australia from that very same weekend. He’s trying to hold off my Ram, Whiskey, while delivering a motivational message.

To quote his motivational saying:

If we want, what we want
then we have to be prepared to do, today
what others won’t
so we will have tomorrow
what others don’t
- Peter Bland

Next time, I will post the blooper of the above video, titled: “Peter Bland and Frisky Whiskey

Gratitude For The Malolo Island Bula Band On YouTube

February 14th, 2008

In January 2008, Fiji-time was ingrained into my lifestyle for 2 weeks. My wife and 2 sons came with me to Fiji for the 3rd time since late 2004. That was where it all started for me. I’m referring to my turnaround in thinking and my “demise” of financial worries. Fiji was where I went to my first wealth creation seminar and made tremendous breakthroughs as a human being. A “Lifechanging Event” is what I labeled it as. The turning point that literally catapulted my mindset into territory categorized (by the cynics & skeptics) as impossible or “Too Good To Be True”.

I’ve Always Viewed Cynics With Healthy Skepticism!

Pardon the pun. I guess I would never have been any good in the military. I was never a conformer. The phrase “Court-marshal for disobedience” comes to mind. I don’t know, maybe I would have broken to the system. My lack of dogma, my refusal to take someone else’s word for it, made me try time and time again. I failed over and over. Eventually, I hit pay dirt. It took 37 years and it was right in front of me all along. I was blinded by its presence. It’s all in the mind!

YouTube Message of Gratitude From Malolo Island, Fiji

I filmed this video for you on Malolo Island In Fiji. Watch and hear one of my goals that I set in October 2004 whilst at that very wealth seminar that turned it around for me. It is my absolute utmost feeling of gratitude that makes my world go around. Discover that feeling and you have indeed found the Feeling Of Success.

For 2008, my promise and commitment to you is this:

  1. The Promise: To deliver 3 videos like this on SeanRasmussen.com in 2008. One from each of 3 continents of the world. Tough assignment, I know! But someone has to do it…
  2. Motivation: To share my motivation and insights with you. Hopefully, it rubs off. Maybe you can give me some in return. It’s called Universal Law.
  3. Abundance: To show more abundance and gratitude in 2008 than I have in the previous 40 years of my life.
  4. Charity: To donate more to charity than I have ever dreamt of (prior to acquiring an abundant mindset) :)

Abundance: When Others Zig, I Zag

Whilst in Fiji, I noticed the abundance of happiness amongst the natives. The stress levels seem very low. Yet the lack of money is very apparent. It appears to be the other way around in many countries.

So why do so many people live an average life, while so few have an abundant life? Could it be that the decisions of the “majority” is the recipe for an average life? I’ve changed my thinking to that of the “Minority”. Because it’s the very few that think abundant that have outstanding results, hence they have abundance in their lives.

My results are rolling in now and I have enough to give away to the ones that need more. I learned to Zig when others Zagged. I started to travel the road less travelled. The road to success. And the road to success lies within.

The Malolo Island Bula Band – World First On YouTube

Have a look at this. Meet my friends from Malolo Island: Iliesa on lead guitar, Tevita on drums and Viliame on rhythm guitar. They are The Malolo Island Bula Band playing “Stuck On You” by Lionel Ritchie.

These guys know success. To them it is not monetary. Many Fijians work for the cost of a few cocktails in a 5 star resort, every day. Yet they are happy! They have abundance. Fijians can teach us many things about happiness. Stress is literally unknown to them.

These guys are as honest as the day is long. Bless them all. I filmed them and am sending DVD’s back to the Malolo village so they can all watch The Malolo Island Bula Band in action. There’s more to come. I’m very grateful for meeting them. They are excited to be on YouTube. Some things that others take for granted are a gift from heaven to others.

Sota tale (Fijian for: See you soon). Bula!
