This is the intro to the Mindset Mastery eBook. I wrote it as a tribute to one of the foremost inspirations for thousands of self improvement and motivational coaches across the globe.

Sean RasmussenThe year 2000 was a big year for me. My second son was born, I was constantly working away from home to “make a living” and I was asking a lot of questions about life. “Is this as good as it gets?” I asked myself. My family finances were going backwards and the harder I worked, it seemed, the bigger the financial hole seemed to get.

I would be away from home, at work, for 6 weeks at a time and have 1 week off. I missed my son’s first words, his first steps and didn’t give him the opportunity to call me “Dad” when he was ready for it. On my one week off from work, I’d lap it all up and my heart was torn to bits every time I had to leave again for work. I called work a “Paid Prison Sentence” and vowed to make some drastic changes. Something had to change for me to experience change. I gave myself no option.

When my workmates went to the pub or a concert or anything social after work, I was in my little caravan reading books; Self-help books. 2000 was the catalyst year for my Mindset Mastery to start kicking in. I discovered Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, Anthony Robbins and many more inspiring authors but foremost I found Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

My mind went into overdrive. I had moments of “truth” come to me. It’s something I cannot describe. You will have to experience it yourself. I genuinely hope you discover it and reading this book will help you. The strategies suggested by Mr. Hill have been applied. With a blind faith in my own ability along with further “Financial Education”, I have experienced results I previously only dared to dream about.

I am now an active supporter of many charities, many of which would not benefit from me hadn’t I read Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich. The applied “mindset changes” and “calls to action” that I initiated have made an incredible impact on my personal life, family life, business associates and various charities.

I have a personal short term goal of donating $10,000 per month to charity. When I set this target, I had no idea of “how”, I just knew “what” the desired result was.

Napoleon Hill devoted years of his life to benefit mankind in such a way, even he possibly didn’t imagine the magnitude of it. His desired outcome was known to him. He had the passion and a burning desire to achieve an outcome that will be an asset for mankind over many years to come.

Support Your Dreams and Goals

There have been 2100 downloads of The Mindset Mastery eBook. My Easter Video proved popular too. I’m happy that so many people are benefiting from the book and am currently posting articles daily to help everyone a bit more.

Willpower vs Goals and Dreams

Willpower and the power of choiceI touched on the topic of willpower yesterday. There are some areas where your power of choice and willpower really help you the more than others. One area is of course when you’re setting goals. And not just when you are setting goals but also when others are striving towards theirs. It’s easy to set targets and goals but how easy it is to stay motivated? Most goals are washed down the “tube of lost dreams” while only some come into fruition. We can support our own goals, along with our friends goals in many ways. The best way is simply to stay aware of the goals on a permanent basis.

How to support dreams and goals: Know that they are there

Know what your goals and dreams areIt’s easy to forget that everyone is trying to reach a goal at some point or another – especially when we have our own plans in place. We forget that by not taking a moment to notice others, we aren’t being as supportive as they might need us to be. If the tables were turned in this situation; we would want someone to cheer for us - wouldn’t we? Here’s how you can help others (and help yourself at the same time). Talking with others about their goals and dreams is the first step in learning how you can help. By simply asking others what they are planning on doing and how they are planning on reaching a specific goal, you can begin to show your interest as well as help them see the value of the work they are doing. Be interested in what others have to say and they will also help you look at your personal goals in a positive light as well.

Follow up with those whose goals you have learned

By checking in with people ever so often, you can show this person that they have someone supporting them and ready to help them should they need help. Even if they are always on track, it’s fun to see the progress of someone else – inspiring too. At the same time, if this person does need help, make sure to step in to help if you can or give them the direction they need to get unstuck.

Follow up and encourage goalsCelebrate the success of others when you learn about it. A fun greeting card or a quick e-mail can help someone feel like they have really succeeded and that their work has been validated. Make sure to tell them that they are an inspiration to you as well, as they will be.

Also, don’t forget to reward yourself along the way when you achieve stepping stones and waypoints towards your own goals.
