Mindset Mastery 65 – Reciprocal Faith

December 12th, 2008

Mindset Mastery eBookThe Law of Attraction tells us that like attracts like. That fact is proven here, where Napoleon Hill learns that not only does his determined faith net his personal gains, but it also nurtures a sense of faith in others; namely, in this instance, his son.

Faith Knows No Personal Bounds

“As I analyze the experience in retrospect, I can see now, that my son’s faith in me had much to do with the astounding results. He did not question anything I told him. I sold him the idea that he had a distinct advantage over his older brother, and that this advantage would reflect itself in many ways. For example, the teachers in school would observe that he had no ears, and, because of this, they would show him special attention and treat him with extraordinary kindness. They always did. His mother saw to that, by visiting the teachers and arranging with them to give the child the extra attention necessary. I sold him the idea, too, that when he became old enough to sell newspapers, (his older brother had already become a newspaper merchant), he would have a big advantage over his brother, for the reason that people would pay him extra money for his wares, because they could see that he was a bright, industrious boy, despite the fact he had no ears.

Determination Overcomes Adversity

“We could notice that, gradually, the child’s hearing was improving. Moreover, he had not the slightest tendency to be self-conscious, because of his affliction. When he was about seven, he showed the first evidence that our method of servicing his mind was bearing fruit. For several months he begged for the privilege of selling newspapers, but his mother would not give her consent. She was afraid that his deafness made it unsafe for him to go on the street alone.

“Finally, he took matters in his own hands. One afternoon, when he was left at home with the servants, he climbed through the kitchen window, shinnied to the ground, and set out on his own. He borrowed six cents in capital from the neighborhood shoemaker, invested it in papers, sold out, reinvested, and kept repeating until late in the evening. After balancing his accounts, and paying back the six cents he had borrowed from his banker, he had a net profit of forty-two cents. When we got home that night, we found him in bed asleep, with the money tightly clenched in his hand.

Effort: Rewarded

“His mother opened his hand, removed the coins, and cried. Of all things! Crying over her son’s first victory seemed so inappropriate. My reaction was the reverse. I laughed heartily, for I knew that my endeavor to plant in the child’s mind an attitude of faith in himself had been successful.”

Faith Is Contagious

One of the most important things that we can learn is this lesson from Hill. Faith is not only personal; it is communal as well. It is not something you need keep to yourself. Faith should be shared. When it does, it grows, and rewards you many times more than faith held in secret.

Mindset Mastery 51 - A 6 Step Plan For Wealth

October 24th, 2008

Mindset Mastery eBookThere was a distinct difference between Marshall Field and his peers. There was also a distinct difference between Edwin Barnes and his peers. And there was a distinct similarity shared between Field and Barnes. Ultimately that similarity was wealth and success; in the beginning it was pure, simple, desire for it. Hill explains this, and then he takes us further to lay out a concrete plan for developing an unbending on desire.

Mark The Difference

“Pay close attention and mark this difference between Marshall Field and his peers; it is the same difference which distinguishes Edwin C. Barnes from thousands of other young men who worked in the Edison organization. It is the same difference which distinguishes practically all persons who succeed from those who fail.

Every human being who is old enough to understand the purpose of money, wishes he or she had plenty of it. Wishing will not bring wealth. But desiring wealth, in a state of mind that becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire wealth, and backing up those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure, will bring wealth.

The Six-Step Plan

6 step planThe method through which desire for wealth is turned into its financial equivalent, is comprised of six definite, practical steps, including–

  1. Fix your mind on the exact amount of money you desire. It is not enough to simply say “I want lots of money.” Be definite in regards to the amount. (There is a psychological reason for definiteness which will be described in a subsequent chapter).
  2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such thing as “something for nothing.)
  3. Set a definite date when you intend to possess the amount of money you desire.
  4. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin immediately; whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
  5. Put it in writing. Write a clear, concise statement including each of these tenets–the amount of money you intend to acquire, the time limit for its acquisition, what you intend to give in return for the money, and a clear description of the plan you intend to use to accumulate it.
  6. Read your written statement aloud, twice every day; read it once just before you go to bed at night, and once when you wake up in the morning. As you read—see and feel and believe you already possess the money.

Wishes Vs. Desire

I think by now you are starting to see the difference between the people who just wish for money and the people who really, truly desire to have it. The people who do not find wealth through the Law of Attraction are often those who try to wish their wealth their way. Those are the people who do not get that there is more to it, and that a fleeting wish now and then does not have the substance behind it to attract wealth.

Aussie Politician Becomes a Twit

October 15th, 2008

Australian Liberal opposition leader, Malcolm Turnbull has joined the growing force of Online Twits. He is now officially Twittering online, enabling his supporters and foes to keep an eye on his everyday activities. Of course, being a part of Twitter (Social Media) is a smart move by Malcolm and will earn him cudos with the voters, if he survives the liberal leadership scuffle to the next election.

Of course, this will also keep him more accountable… Now, big brother is watching (the voters)

Barrack Obama Has It Mastered

My Web Vision 2020 social media clients can learn from this. It’s all about publicity. You only need to look online at Facebook to see how well Barrack Obama is faring with online supporters. He currently has  2,139,312 supporters on Facebook vs John McCain with 575,601 loyals. Mind you, if McCain’s supporters are the same age as him, there’s a fair chance they don’t use FaceBook!

John Cleese Gets A Laugh Out Of Sarah Palin

Everyone is getting involved online. One of my all time favorite comedians, John Cleese, has made some pretty funny statements about Sarah Palin. I suppose if you get in the public face with an opinion, there are going to be some responses, especially online. Maybe there is scope for another episode of Faulty Towers with the US presidential candidates: Obama Bin Biden & Michael Palin-McCain. Sounds scary to me…

Whoever wins will possibly have to deal with the same fate as Herbert Hoover (1929-1933). Get the blame for a World Depression that his pre-presidents (and bankers) had left him with. Good luck!

The Online Watergate

The internet is now going to keep our politicians more honest. I’m waiting for the day when the online Watergate occurs. Maybe it will be through Twitter.

By the way, if Aussie Prime Minister Kevin Rudd want to learn how to do this whole Twitter thing, maybe his office should give me a call. Seems he’s got it sussed anyway on MySpace and FaceBook.

Have a most outstanding day!

The Secret Law Of AttractionIt’s released!  Here it is, The Secret Law Of Attraction. It is yours Free and you can download the book further down in this article.  Grab your copy and learn the timeless method of “Thoughts Becoming Things“.

Valuable Advice From A Mentor

My mentor, Kurek Ashley, once told me: “The most expensive advice you will ever get, is free advice from poor people“.  At first I thought that would be offensive to poor people but then I got it!  Why take advice about money from someone who hasn’t got it? It is a metaphor. Don’t take fitness advice from a fat fitness instructor…

I’m sure you get the picture. The bottom line is that you need to be comfortable with yourself and believe in your ability to acheive.  Then you will get results - and you will get them fast!

Universal Law

If you believe in “good”, then your thoughts are predominantly good. If you think good thoughts, you will take good actions. Good actions give you good results. Before you read the book, consider this quote:

“By thought the thing you want is brought to you - by action you receive it”
