Facebook Fanpages and Internet Marketing

by Sean Rasmussen on June 12, 2010

Facebook Fanpages are a traffic source and tool that cannot be ignored for an internet marketer. In the Learn And Earn Internet Marketing Competition, you will notice a high Facebook involvement between me and the participators of the competition.

It allows me to stay leveraged with my time and work with and help a lot of people, while it allows you to keep a clear eye on the happenings and updates as the competition transpires.

The Facebook Fanpage

The Facebook Fanpage is the place to stay up to date with everything about the Internet Marketing Competition. The page is Sean Rasmussen Talks. I will also point out another important part of the fanpage in a moment. You can join simply by clicking “Like” at the top of the page (as seen in the image below). If the “Like” button is not there, it means you are already a member of the page.

Joining The Internet Marketing Competition

To join the Internet Marketing Competition and be eligible to Learn And Earn during the next 7 weeks, you will need to be a part of the Facebook Fanpage. This is the best way for me to get updates to you fast (without emails) and it keeps it all in one place with full transparency for all to enjoy.

It also allows you to see exactly how many people are part of the competition. Now, I have given you even more transparency! Social media allows for open communication and you will have an increasing ability to see exactly what is happening in the Internet Marketing Competition as we learn and earn for the next 7 weeks.

Make sure you are part of the Facebook Fanpage and share it with your friends.

I’ll see you there.

Hi Sean
I have just realised that I am getting more breadth and depth knowledge of how social media works. Just getting ready for this comp has taught me more about Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Digg. I can also see and feel a great community of funloving, like minded action takers swelling in numbers every day, and already I am starting to make friends with many more fabulous people. This competition has started something truly awesome and it really is exciting!
Kind regards

I’ve been a member of the fan page for a while although I haven’t been a big user of facebook until now. I’ve never seen the like word which tells me how many how many fans there are anywhere. I just looked again & it’s still not visible. Can someone please tell me how to make it visible?

Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Smiles,

Jen :)

Renee June 12, 2010 at 7:58 pm

Hi Jen,

It’s not the “like” word that will change into a number, but once you “like” the page (and therefore become a fan of it) you can see how many others “like” this page.

To find that number:
- go onto the SeanRasmussenTalks Facebook page
- scroll down and check on the left for the line “xxx people like this”

At the moment 1.126 people “like” this page :)

That shows you how many fans that page has at the moment and therefore the maximum number of people participating in the competition so far (as you have to register as a fan to participate).

Hope that helps :)

It’s great to see this fanpage of yours swelling with new faces and old all enjoying the competition.

I can now see the benefits of having a fanpage because the people who are following you are concentrated into one area and we all get to meet each other (like minded souls). I have met lot’s of new people already through this competition.

I would definitely consider creating a fanpage in the future but at present, my dog is unable to type so he can’t get into Facebook to support me (lol).

However, there have been several events that have made my life better and happier that occurred through Facebook. I have found and been found by people with whom I had lost contact. Also I have made new friends which would not have happened otherwise.

Properly used, I agree it is a wonderful resource. I hope it will continue to help all of us in many different ways.

I was an intermittent user of Facebook but it was more of the blah, blah stuff (though not as far as pics with head in dunny or the likes). I was a fan of a couple of Fanpages but hadn’t really seen how I could make one or utilise that myself.

I went on that Social Media webinar last week which in the main was just an overview and was more about what you could do and then of course you could contact them to find out more!!

Having said that there was a couple of good examples of Fanpages (one one Facebook and the other on Twitter). The Facebook one is called Felix & Lily Handmade Wearbales – started by a couple of stay at home mums who have built a great business just using the Fanpage (no website). As their business has built substantially they are getting now getting one.

One thing’s for sure is I’ll be making better use of Facebook Fanpages. I have created one but now have to put some worthwhile, appropriate information on it for my multitude of fans to enjoy.

Okay I haven’t got a multitude of fans yet. In fact I am the only one (hehe). But that’s going to change and I’m sure you lovely people [she says asking very politely] would love to join me.

I have joined Melbourne Pizza Delivery Facebook Fanpage.
A good choice, I must say. Pizzas are my favourite fast food (and the ones we make at home are healthy – thanks to the great ideas on this site)

I am sure that Erika can give you more specific instructions about the okra than I can. I just eat it. I know that I think mother rolled it in something before she fried it but I have no idea what. The only thing I know is that there is nothing better anywhere in the world at any time of the day or night. Just be careful to make enough of it.

Here’s hopin’ all y’all hev a grate tim eatin’ it.

I have very proudly made my own Facebook Fanpage but this one is not about internet marketing. It is for Timepieces NZ

It is part of my master plan which includes doing a website for this business myself to have more control over SEO etc. Why not pay myself to do it!!

Please jump on and be some of the first to ‘like’ it (that’s if you like it of course!). My goal is 1000 fans/likes by January 2011. If you do like it please share on Facebook to help me reach my goal sooner. It is a meagre start but now have a base to build on.

I have also made a discussion topic for people to place feedback.
