Hi Sarah,

You make an excellent point. I always thought a geek was someone who was smarter than the average guy and who can create all these amazing things that transform our lives.

I’m thinking of not just Steve Jobs but Nobel Prize winning scientists and anyone that thinks outside the square. But, I much prefer your definition of a geek and that’s totally me.

I sometimes wonder if geeks succeed because of their intelligence or because of the need to rise above the ridicule others subject them to. Learning to stand up for yourself is a form of education, although cruel, and one that you don’t want to be subjected to but am sort of thankful for in the end.
