Jim Rohn Quotes

by Sean Rasmussen on December 6, 2009

Jim RohnWith the passing of Jim Rohn, I find it suitable to pay tribute to the many quotes that he used. I know of noboby else that has used so many quotes so successfully and become so well known for them. In my eyes Jim was the master of self improvement quotes. I didn’t know the man, Jim Rohn, very well at all. I have however heard so much of him that he has made a positive influence on my life. Especially, through all the self improvement guru’s that now are multi millionaires from the teachings of Jim Rohn. They have much to thank him for and it is showing online as I write this.

Jim Rohn – The Mentor

Jim Rohn has influenced many people around the globe with his teachings. I remember, in the early days of Tony Robbins, hearing about the new prodigy of Jim Rohn. Other self improvement people that have been connected to Jim’s teachings are: Brian Tracy, Mark Victor Hansen & Jack Canfield. Arguably, most of the motivational marketers out there have been influenced by Jim Rohn to some degree. In my personal opinion, Jim was a successful prodigy of Napoleon Hill’s teachings in the 1937 evergreen self improvement book: Think And Grow Rich. As these principles are universal, everyone is teaching the same thing. What Jim did was bring this to a commercial attention that will enable more and more people to improve their life’s to a whole new level.

Jim Rohn Quotes

As Jim Rohn was the master of motivational quotes, I find it suitable to quote a few of his best. There are so many, I had to prune them back to just a few. They all have the power to improve your life, as long as you appreciate the meaning behind them and embrace them with action. Use Jim’s quotes and apply them in your life. As Jim said: “Success is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well

This video is in tribute of Jim Rohn Quotes. It goes for 5 minutes (it fittingly has over 1 minute of silence at the end), so sit back and enjoy the profoundness of some of the best Rohn quotes made.

Rohn’s Most Significant Quote

With the passing of Jim Rohn very recently, I find this quote very suitable. It epitomises the legacy of the man and the influence he has had on so many people – and more importantly, the legacy he leaves behind:

Get around people who have something of value to share with you. Their impact will continue to have a significant effect on your life long after they have departed” ~ Jim Rohn

I have always liked “You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.” It brings both immediacy and a sense of urgency to any change – and it completely destroys all rationalization of procrastination.

Here is a man that years ago taught me the reality of life, that we all need to excell to our utmost while we can . You see the reality of all life is that one day just as our good mate Jim Rohn has, we are going to die and leave this life , and that is one of your life guarantee’s .
Thank you Jim and R.I.P. as you changed so many lives that your life although finished, will never be forgotten.

Thank you as well Sean Rasmussen for the Jim Rohn Quotes, and Tribute

Wow Sean what a magnificent gesture and so eloquently put.
Do you think Jim Rohn had an influence on me? 30 something years ago I came across him. There were others of course, many in the same mould and Jim is defintely amongst those wonderful sincere people who have really tried to change the world and in such a positive way.
Jim…. R.I.P and thanks for passing my way.

My heart is deeply saddened by the passing of such an inspiring mentor. I used to analyse “WHY” to the extreme until I heard Jim Rohn. Whenever I ask “WHY” now, I always hear Jim’s softly spoken voice saying “Don’t even go there, that’s just the way it is and isn’t that interesting?” Jim Rohn did not need to energize his audience, his words and wisdom captivated all naturally. The world will miss you, dearly, but your words and wisdom will live on forever.

I was only listening to one of his audio recorded interviews from Healthy Wealthy and Wise, 2 days ago. Was driving a bus from Adel to Alice without passengers and thought I would catch up on some motivational mp3 recordings….one was Jim Rohn. So sad he has passed on….only realised it when I read this :-( He was an inspiration to many around the world so I am sure he passed on very happy with his achievements. May he rest in peace and return again to teach us more :-)

Self actualization goes hand in hand with self improvement . After the basic necessities in life have been attained, self improvement becomes an intangible. It involves things like personal discipline, mental focus, concentration, and goal setting. Most successful people have reached this stage in their life. These skills can be developed much faster by using the Learning Booth. It is a simple yet effective study aid that uses equipment combined with psychological tools to overcome previously developed poor study habits. Richard Provance, thelearningbooth.com

My favorite quote from Jim Rohn speaks not only about, but to Jim’s powerful words, no matter the subject. “What is powerful is when what you say is just the tip of the iceberg of what you know.” Everything Jim Rohn said led one to know that he was only scratching the surface on that topic.
Thanks for a life greatly lived Mr. Rohn!

I’m sure I could use every one of these quotes at different stages of my journey through life. Even if we have what we think is all we need in life, we should be propelled to do more, if not for ourselves but for others.

Thanks for sharing Sean.

Mr Rohn, it is such a lost to have you gone; my sincere condolences to a man a gentle a great person like yourself, to your family as well.

A man with nothing to hide, he lived the truth that he followed by his faith. A man words cannot express him properly. His erudite knowledge is valueless. It is sad, but what we can do, as you always said: Things do not just happen they happen just. You had your time, but I feel sad, it saddens the senses, I wish you had some more. Rest in peace!

Hi Sean,

I love your tribute to Jim Rohn. He was an amazing man who worked so that other people could learn how to create the lives they so badly desired. I, for one, loved his quotes.

I think this is one of my favorite quotes: “If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.”

Jim Rohn did inspire many people. One that stands out is Tony Robbins. Tony in turn has inspired many more, so the wheel of inspiration keeps turning.

Sean
The inspiration of one person, in turn inspiring many others and with the ball rolling along gathering so many more who will in turn go on to inspire others has to make this world a much better place and with the positive attitude, and with the power of the internet maybe we CAN really change the world.

What an inspirational chap and so wise – he’s someone I can only wish to aspire to, even an eigth of who he was I would be blessed. Reading the list of quotes, and they are all great but there are 3 that stood out for me for where I am at right now that I have written out & will place them around my home, tape them to my computer and carry with me when I am out & about to ensure I am living it every single second of the day!!!!

Without a sense of urgency, desire loses its value.

You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.

If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.

Hi Sean,
I happened upon your site while Googling Jim Rohn. I am working with a group of self-made multi-millionaires on the ground floor of what is expected to be a multi-billion dollar company. We are looking to capture market share before we hit momentum, which is anticipated to be before the end of this calendar year. I would love the opportunity to discuss the opportunity with you.
Best regards,

Hi Sean

Jim Rohn is indeed an exceptional legend.

He has been a true leader and has left a large legacy, not to everyone, but to some of us.

It is one thing to read his comments and remember them, it is another to read his comments and take action on them.

Jazz Salinger July 31, 2010 at 7:16 pm

Hi Elly,

I completely agree with you. The most important part is to take action. That’s the one of the keys to success. “Knowing is not enough, we must apply.” – Bruce Lee (Or it goes something like that.)

The thing is we can read till the cows come home. It’s taking that knowledge and turning it into action that will see you be successful.
