When A Nation Cries

by Sean Rasmussen on July 3, 2008

Tonight I watched a CNN video of a woman dying in a hospital while 2 security guards casually watched on and a nurse went up to the lady and kicked the dying woman to see if she was dead. Ever since I was a child I have heard appalling stories of the 3rd world status of the US health system and this one made me sick to the core. To think that any human could have so little compassion for another is nothing less than nausiating.

Only days ago, on the news, I saw a New York pensioner get run over by a car. The car drove on and people walking by seemed somewhat Un-Touched! So, I ask those who live in this country of ours: Be Grateful! We have not fallen that low yet. AND don’t let it happen. Remember, we are humans – Not Animals!

Hierarchy Of Values

This brings me to ask the Dr Demartini question: What are the Hierarchy Of Values for a government that allows such disgraceful acts to happen? A person (or government) will act according to their hierarchy of values. If oil and meglomania is the top priority and their health system comes second, then woe for the poor citizen.

I certainly know the Australian governments of the past have been no angels. They prostituted themselves to such a degree, they allowed over 20 Foreign Nuclear Tests on Australian soil and thousands of citizens have suffered the consequences. The prime minister even got Knighted! Common citizens would have got Treason for less than that!

During wartime, we knew our enemies. After the war, we suffered nuclear bombings by our “Allies” that leaves radioactive residue of our soil for an estimated 500,000 years!

Mass Destruction Of World Starvation

Getting back to the topic; someone’s daughter, someone’s mother, someone precious was allowed to die in a hospital emergency room. Chances are that she probably wasn’t wealthy, hence didn’t earn the carefactor of the heartless Profiteers in charge. One would be excused to ask this question:

Is spending a Trillion dollars on bringing down a dictator ( installed and supported by the same government ) and imposing Mass Destruction on that nation and its citizens really justified when your own citizens have a sub standard health system? Maybe I’m wrong here but the picture painted to the rest of the world isn’t exactly rosy. Credibility is flying out of the window faster than you can say Haliburton or Bechtel. In the process, the current (outgoing) US President has accumulated more national debt than the previous 41 Presidents between them. To such a degree that the worlds starvation could be stemmed for 12 months on one year of the US military budget.

Conveniently It was announced yesterday that the “assigned” Iraqi government are allocating major oil contracts to 6 US oil companies to do what the disposed dictator would not let them. Hmm… Lucky for Dictator, Robert Mugabe that Zimbabwe don’t have abundant oil resources.

Wouldn’t it be nice to allocate some of the spoils towards helping the citizens at home…

When A Nation Cries

Justice And IndependenceIn 1985 John Mellencamp released a great album named “Scarecrow”. It was my favorite album for many years. The lyrics of one track in particular comes to mind. Not until recently have I really grasped his message from the lyrics. I will let you work it out yourself. The lyrics of the Mellencamp song is below and I have added the YouTube clip for your listening benefit.

Justice and Independence ‘85

He was born on the fourth day of July
So his parents called him Independence Day
He married a girl named Justice who gave birth to a son called Nation
Then she walked away
Independence would daydream and he’d pretend
That someday him and Justice and Nation would be together again
But Justice held up in a shotgun shack
And she wouldn’t let nobody in
So a Nation cried

Oh Oh, When a Nation cries
His tears fall down like missiles from the skies
Justice look into Independence’s eyes
Can you make everything alright
Can you keep your Nation warm tonight

Well Nation grew up and got himself a big reputation
Couldn’t keep the boy at home no no
He just kept running ’round and ’round and ’round and ’round
Independence and Justice well they felt so ashamed
When the Nation fell down they argued who was to blame
Nation if you’ll just come home we’ll have this family again
Oh Nation don’t cry

Unfortunatley there are many hidden agendas most civilizations are unaware of, and nothing is at it seems – nothing!

Go to youtube and type in things such as ‘New World Order’, ‘Bilderberg’, ‘Illuminati’, ‘RFID Chip’ and you’ll discover some horrifying stories of past, present and future plans.

Beware, this is not for the faint hearted, but when you look at stories such as the one above, it doesn’t matter if it is one person or a million people, these things are allowed to occur because those at the top want it to.

Apathy will be our greatest enemy – not the people who cause these atrocities. 100 years ago 85% of the population was self-employed, now it is more like 5%.

It is your duty to take full responsibility for ‘your’ results in life, for your sake and everyone around you and to love.

Hi Dean
Yes, I have plenty of knowledge about those things but don’t mention them much here. Firstly, 96% would refuse to listen and block it out. Second, it could attract to many upset emails to my invox. It amazes me that opposing presidential candidates go to the same meetings and are cooperating members of the same groups. The latest Bilderberg meeting with Obama and Hillary attending is a blatant example of this.

Hi Sean,
Thanks for your thoughts on health. I was beginning to think nobody cares any more.
It seems these days that Dr are only in it for the money.
Your compassion marks you out as someone special in our community.

Use your gift well.

Thanks Mark.
I was expecting someone to kick up a stink about this post by now. Normally, I get the complaints in my email rather than out in the open. There are people around there that just refuse to open their eyes to the atrocities that are happening around the world.

Sean, this is an excellent article in which the embedded song amazingly depicts the emotional impact of your writing. I agree with you and hope that by my digging this, it will make am impact around the globe. I hope that everyone who reads this will pass this along by stumbling, digging or emailing their contacts. Thanks for taking the time to reflect on what has be become a painful situtation that most people choose to ignore!

You can consider me one of those US friends! Thanks again for a wonderful post.

Thank you so much! You are spot on as far as the impact of the song. I only picked up John Mellencamps CD from my old collection a few days ago and was listening to it. Justice and Independence really stuck in my mind for days. Then I watched the CNN report and jumped straight onto the blog. I spent 3 hours fine tuning it to keep it clean and delete things that possibly got to political (or could be interpreted that way).
Thanks for the comment. It means a lot to me. And the Diggs etc will help a lot. :)

Sean, fully agree with the views above, and commend you for having the courage to make the post. These events just give me more resovle to beat the system and create security for my family, and then help my extended family and friends in their wealth creation journey.
My Dad has being saying this quote for years: “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance”. It seems that 96% of us have not been any where near vigilant enough.

To true Gavin. The price of freedom is, in todays currency, very high. Especially if you are of different political and religious views to the big fellas in NATO. Sit on some oil reserves and refuse to share it with the US and see what happens! Lucky for good old Australia that we know how to suck up to those guys and compromise our values.

Sean,

Whether you get complaints or not (and there is NO complaint here), at least you are putting it there to people to think about. Even if you can get those who are more complacent to read your post, you have still planted a seed of thought. Sometimes that seed replaces a dying one.
It is such courage and persistance that pays off…just like Barnes. I for one have had my eyes opened so that is one more person you have influenced in a positive way. I by no means lack compassion (even reading your story about the lack of humanity bring an awful, sick feeling to my gut) but your posts encourage us to take action and action is what makes change. Thoughts to feelings to actions. I hope more people will ask themselves where their actions will take them today and every day forward.
Thanks, Eileen.

It is scary what we human beings are capable of doing. And most of the time if you would ask them why they did it they either wouldn’t (want to) understand or blame somebody else / the circumstances.
Why is it so hard to follow the basic principles to treat others the way you want to be treated (or you would like your close friends and family to be treated)? Why is greed so dominant in a society where we have so much? And I don’t mean only America, many developed countries are the same.
My goal is to be the change I want to see – I think that’s the best we can do.

I can see Sean that you are passionate about this topic. I agree, the way some governemnts allow their citizens to be treated is appalling if not worse. I was fascinated with Michael Moore’s filem Sicko” that compared the USA medical system with those of UK, Canada, France and others. It should be something the US fixes very very soon.

As for the atrocities of leaders, be they genocide in Uganda and Iraq and Cambodia or economic mismangement in Zimbabwe or corruption in the Phillipines and Thailand, they should be held more accountable than they currently are. They say that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutley. Sadly this is oh so true.

Yes Ray. I am indeed very passionate about that topic.

Hi Sean,
I am pleased to hear you’re a realist on world issues. It’s refreshing to know that you acknowledge world problems and do not put your head in the sand on such issues.

My opinion on the disgusting behaviour by insensitive people towards a dieing woman in hospital. I believe it’s to be expected because we are all being desensitized. One way this is happening is by a high frequency noise. The same frequency that comes from Smoke Alarms.

Now it’s sounded everywhere. On trains, buses. It’s a “doors closing” warning on Tangara trains, especially at peak hour time. Also now on supermarket scanners. It’s getting louder also and people are not even aware of it until you bring it to their attention. Then they will say it’s a sinister noise, which is is.

Also, my opinion on the “sickness industry” is that it’s a bit of a worry. It’s a known fact (apparently) that when Doctors go on strike the death rate drops, not increases as expected, it drops.

I think it would be to the community’s benefit if just about all hospitals were closed. There’s no reason for people to be sick if they are eating correctly and not allowing chemicals to be administered to their bodies – mainly through drugs by ‘the sickness industry”

Remember, If we are not sick, they do not have a job.

Good song and message, Sean, Thanks,

Jill.

And it doesn’t only happen in the US. Go to Singapore sometime and see old women cleaning street gutters in the name of the clean policy. They are only doing it as that is their only way of surviving.

I wonder when the US populace are going to wake up. The majority of the so called terrorists in the world were once US operatives. Iraq was to the US a friend when it suited in fighting against Iran. Then what happened?
