Mindset Mastery 180 – Masterful Planning

February 22, 2010

History lives on, on both sides of the ocean. The birth of America was not an overnight sensation, as Napoleon Hill continues to illustrate here.

More Historical Materminding

Meanwhile, the British were not idle. They, too, were doing some planning and “Master-Minding” on their own account, with the advantage of having money to back them and organized soldiery.

The Crown appointed Gage to supplant Hutchinson as the Governor of Massachusetts. One of the new Governor’s first acts was to send a messenger to call on Samuel Adams, for the purpose of endeavoring to stop his opposition—by fear.

Mindset Mastery 179 – History Continues

February 19, 2010

Our lessons in U.S. history—in the history of the birth of a nation and the power of a people behind it—continue today, with the continued story of the birth of America.

Powerful Demands

Before the Assembly adjourned, Samuel Adams was appointed to call on the Governor of the Province, Hutchinson, and demand the withdrawal of the British troops.

The request was granted; the troops were removed from Boston, but the incident was not closed. It had caused a situation destined to change the entire trend of civilization. Strange, isn’t it, how the great changes, such as the American Revolution, and the First World War, often have their beginnings in circumstances which seem unimportant?

Mindset Mastery 178 – Setting History Straight

February 15, 2010

That in itself is a bold statement—that the history of the birth of America needs righting. That is not exactly what Napoleon Hill meant, though; he simply is saying that there are larger forces behind the birth of the nation that require understanding if you are to take lessons in wealth creation from it.

The Father Of The Nation

We read the history of the Revolution, and falsely imagine that George Washington was the Father of the United States, that it was he who won American freedom, while the truth is—Washington was only an accessory after the fact, because victory for his armies had been insured long before Lord Cornwallis surrendered.

Mindset Mastery 177 – Lessons From History

February 12, 2010

Napoleon Hill is not one to talk without backing up his statements. In the following several posts, we’ll see many lessons learned from history that have made not only the difference for the individuals themselves, but for entire nations and the nations that would come to follow these examples.

FREEDOM OR DEATH ON A DECISION

The value of decisions depends upon the courage required to render them. The great decisions, which served as the foundation of civilization, were reached by assuming great risks, which often meant the possibility of death.

Mindset Mastery 176 – Influence of Opinion

February 8, 2010

There is a fine line between considering the opinions of others and letting them rule your life. Opinions of the periphery can very easily and quickly overtake you, and perpetuate that stagnation and procrastination in life that we talked about in the last Mindset Mastery post.
Easily Influenced

The majority of people who fail to accumulate money sufficient for their needs, are, generally, easily influenced by the “opinions” of others. They permit the newspapers and the “gossiping” neighbors to do their “thinking” for them. “Opinions are the cheapest commodities on earth. Everyone has a flock of opinions ready to be wished upon anyone who will accept them. If you are influenced by “opinions” when you reach decisions, you will not succeed in any undertaking, much less in that of transmuting your own desire into money.

Mindset Mastery 174 – Something For Nothing

February 1, 2010

You may recall that at the end of the last Mindset Mastery post Napoleon Hill was talking about the fact that the opportunity in capitalist systems exists for everyone, meaning that any willing body is certainly capable and can Think and Grow Rich. However, that is an opportunity that requires a certain level of understanding as well.
Denied No Right

The “System” denies no one this right, but it does not, and cannot promise something for nothing because the system, itself, is irrevocably controlled by the Law of Economics which neither recognizes nor tolerates for long, getting without giving.

Mindset Mastery 173 – Lands Of Opportunity

January 29, 2010

Despite the criticism that America and other successful capitalist nations endure, they are still the lands of opportunity, ripe for the picking for wealth creation. Napoleon Hill understood them to be the place for motivated wealth creators to take advantage of the Law of Economics.

Ideal Location

Most people living in America like the country, its capitalistic system and all. Worldwide the U.S. still has the reputation of being the land of opportunity. It is ideally suited to individual wealth creation.
