  1. Interesting! I always thought of “action” to be the opposite of procrastination, but as all action begins with a decision, I can see this as being the “root” opposite of procrastination. I personally have found that the decision to do something is better acted upon right away for best results. Great lesson for success as always!

    Hi Sean,

As Tony Robbins says, “It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped”. I’ve always found that once I’ve made a definite decision about what I’m going to do; I seem to find a way to make it happen.

For me it’s always the committing to the decision and taking the appropriate actions that bring about the result. I find that if there’s no change in my behaviour then I haven’t really made a decision, even when I think I have.

    • I’m like you Jazz, in that once I have made up my mind I will seek out all possible avenues to achieve what I am after – some call it being stubborn 😉

It was not always like that and sometimes it stills feels like I have a long way to go. I also put a little blame on my arch nemesis, Procrastination.

  3. Hi Sean,

Reaching a Decision promptly and Changing it Slowly – doing that will set you apart from the majority. Because it shows that you have the passion and determination paired with knowledge and willingness to succeed.

I am practicing my decision taking every day with small things to be prepared for the larger decisions of life.

  4. Napoleon Hill in this chapter certainly gives a strong example of a courageous decision. That is made by Socrates, who drank a cup of poison rather than compromise in his personal belief. This courageous decision turned Time ahead a thousand years, and gave people then unborn, the right to freedom of thought and freedom of speech.

How incredible is that? A decision made for humanity that is so self sacrificing.

  5. Hi Sean,
History has shown that a definite decision can change history and cause an effect on mankind that lasts for the next thousand years. The sacrifices are great but so are the benefits.

Great learning in this blog series, thank-you.

    • Hi Jill,

The decisions we make in our life can change the course of our personal history. Once we’ve made a definite choice, there’s no going back. I think it’s always easier to make progress once a firm decision has been made.
