Mindset Mastery 99 – Designed For Control

by Sean Rasmussen on April 10, 2009

Mindset Mastery eBookMan was designed to be in control of his life in all aspects—even in the control of the subconscious mind. As Napoleon Hill points out in this passage, however, we seem to have lost the knowledge of that control, and so with it the ability to maintain control over our thoughts and mindset, to the detriment of our financial success.

Man Designed For Absolute Control

Man has been designed by Nature to have absolute control over what information reaches his subconscious mind through his five senses; however, this does not mean that man always exercises this control. In the great majority of instances, people do not exercise such control, which explains why so many people spend their lives living on the financial edge.

The Abundance You Propagate

Recall what was said about the subconscious mind resembling a fertile garden plot, where weeds will abundantly grow if the seeds of more desirable crops are not planted there. Auto-suggestion is the means of control through which an individual may voluntarily feed his subconscious mind positive and creative thoughts, or, by neglect, allow destructive thoughts to find their way into this rich garden of the mind.

Seeds Of Success

The last of the six steps outlined in the chapter on Desire instructed you to read aloud twice daily the written statement of your desire for money, and to see and feel yourself already in possession of the money! By following these instructions, you communicate the object of your desire directly to your subconscious mind in a spirit of absolute faith. By repeating this process, you voluntarily create thought habits that are favorable to your efforts to transform desire into money.

Go back to these six steps described in chapter two, and read them again, very carefully, before you go further. Then (when you come to it), very carefully read the four instructions for the organization of your “Master Mind” group described in the chapter on Organized Planning. By comparing these two sets of instructions with what has been laid out in regards to auto-suggestion, you will, of course, see that the instructions involve applying the principle of auto-suggestion.

Start Planting Today

We all need to plant in our minds the right thoughts and emotions for success—thoughts of success and positivity, of possibility, opportunity, and ability. We need to believe in those thoughts, and not just consciously, but subconsciously as well so as to create a whole-being of success and wealth.

There is no time like the present, as the saying goes, and absolutely no reason or need to wait to start planting the seeds that will be your success. Start today to attach feeling and emotion to your conscious thoughts and grow a healthy mind of positivity and success.

Hi Sean,

These six steps allow me to flood my subconscious mind with thoughts, pictures, feelings and emotions of something I desire. When I add belief; rock solid, wholehearted faith that my goal is already mine; my subconscious mind will find ways to bring it into reality.

Napoleon Hill’s formula simply helps me to convince my subconscious mind that the desires I hold in my heart already exist in reality. I find repeating the formula daily helps me to form a positive habit.

It’s these positive habits which help to direct my mind to positive ends. I am in control. I am telling my mind what I want it to think. This is a much better result than when I leave it to its own devices.

Forming a habit takes approximately 30 consecutive days. So if we are switched on we can plant 12 great new habits/thoughts in our subconscious mind every year. We just need to be persistent and reinforce the new thought twice daily for 30 days. Then go to the next. And the next. And the next.

Another thought: how does the overflow of information we are experiencing these days (advertisement, TV, Internet, Radio, Signs .. ) influence us and our thinking? Do we take more stuff in less filtered? And what does it to the subconscious of your kids?

I put my seeds in an “ideas notebook”. It might take a while to come to fruition, if at all. But at least they’re captured with some hope of being sowed and reaped, one day.
