Like Jazz, struggling to restore lost faith is certainly a challenge - one that I have met with resounding success in some instances, and others not so well. Now, for me, its easier to see that the ones that are the greater challenges are the concepts that are embedded on a deeper level, and knowing what I know now, I can choose not to struggle. I agree that usage of the word is broader than just in a religious context. Everybody experiences failure, but if you have faith in yourself and your goal, that won't stop you.
