Hi Jill,

I think you just have to choose carefully who you share your dreams with. It’s true that if you don’t tell people; then the nay-sayers won’t have a chance to knock your dreams.

Imagine though if you told someone who believed in you and your dream. You would have someone to support and encourage you when things got tough. Or, even someone who may have ideas that will propel you forward.

I think you have to believe strongly in your dream and then no-one can ever take it from you.

Hi Sean,
I think it’s best not to tell people your dreams. That we they can’t knock your ideas. A quote from one of your previous articles comes to mind. You said, “Tell people what you are doing but show them first” I think that’s a wise move. I’ve often told people my ideas or plans and the nay-sayers have talked me out of it.

I understand what you mean by Dreamers Are Doers because it you don’t have a dream then there’s on chance of anything being done. The dream always has to be there first.

Saying that Copernicus dreamed of a multitude of planets reminds me of how Swift, the author of Gulliver’s Travels, in that book said there were 2 moons around Mars years before they were discovered. He named them ‘Fear’ and ‘Terror’. Mar’s moons today are named ‘Phobos’ and ‘Deimos’, (meaning fear and terror).

I like this post, but I fear that those who would best be served by hearing this, would be the last to read it. I’m talking about the ones who truly don’t believe their dreams could possibly come true, and rather than lose the ideal, they simply keep it a dream.

However, I do believe this post would I wake up nearly every dreamer I have ever met, and by that I mean the one’s I have met who have not yet enacted their dreams. There were one or two notable exceptions who were quite content living two wondrous realities, but I’m thinking they are far from the norm.

I have to disagree with the blog post title. Dreamers aren’t necessarily Doers.

There are Dreamers who just dream. Get nothing done. Bright ideas but can’t make anything of them.

And there are Dreamers who are Doers. Totally different people.
