Mindset Mastery 56 – Dreamers Are Doers

by Sean Rasmussen on November 10, 2008

Mindset Mastery eBookHow many of us have had this experience—we know we can succeed, we feel it in our bones, but we fear how we’ll be looked upon by others? Far too many of us. Letting go of that fear is elemental to success—it has to happen at some point, because there will always be cynics who think your goals are unachievable. Just look at the examples Napoleon Hill gives us…

Be Mocked No More

In planning your acquisition of wealth, don’t allow yourself to be influenced by people who condescendingly mock dreamers. To win big in this world, you must catch the spirit of the great pioneers of the past, whose dreams have given everything of value to civilization; that spirit is the life-blood of modern opportunity–to develop and market our talents.

It might be helpful to put your ‘far-fetched’ dreams into perspective; think about the worst it could possibly be for you, and then think about the early men who got us here. Like Columbus who dreamed of an unknown world, staked his life on its existence, and discovered it! Do you think your ideas are more unbelievable than Columbus’ was in his day?

Or Copernicus, the great astronomer who dreamed of a multitude of planets, and revealed them! No one denounced him as “impractical” after he had triumphed. Instead, the world worshipped him (and still does!), thus proving once more that “success requires no apologies, failure permits no alibis.””

Believe It, Do It

If what you want to do is right, and you believe in it, go ahead and do it! Put your dream across, and never mind what “they” say if you meet with temporary defeat, because “they” may not know that every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent success.

There will always be an element of failure; but it will also be tempered with success. Leave the doubt and failure to the nay-sayers, and take those seeds of success for yourself! Don’t let their seeds of doubt become your downfall.

It is truley amazing the number of folks who will never ever attempt anything in life , because they are parylised by the fear of what other people may think , I will admit there have been times in my life when I was guilty too.
I can say with confidence now that I consider myself now a MINDSET MASTER on the move , since becoming involved with personal development and associating with positive people actually going some where and not even considering what others think. Thanyou so much Sean .

hey……life is good…..

!!! “Leave the doubt and failure to the nay-sayers…”

That is some of the best advice a budding entrepeneur can hear.

Every man, women and child ought to be told that bit of wisdom. In doing so this world would explode with new ideas and great success in every walk of life.

So so true! The ability to totally believe in yourself is key ingredient to achieving anything worthwhile in life. There are so many knockers out there that are quick to pounce at any of your setback’s or failures. Sadly,a lot of these cynics are often your family and friends that have resigned themselves to risk aversive life .
I beleive the start of the journey to financial freedome begins with attaining the ‘mental freedom’ to follow your dreams without worrying about the opinions of others.

Hi Sean,

There will always be knockers no matter what you’re trying to do. Even if it’s something as fundamental as losing weight, quitting smoking, or making any sort of change in your life.

Personally, I love the knockers. I refuse to let someone who doesn’t matter to me influence what I do. These people don’t have to live my life and they don’t pay my bills. So, they don’t get a say.

The more they say I can’t do something, the more determined I am to do it. I use the negative things they say to motivate me to achieve what I want. I try to find ways to take the negative energy they throw at me and use it in positive ways.

Dreamers are Doers?
They can be, they should be – they have to be when they want to be successful. You need to be a dreamer to create that vision of how it will be like once you are there, and they have to be doers to walk the way.
Unfortunately some Dreamers stop with the dream and don’t make it reality. Very often because of the nay sayers. What did Edison say? He didn’t have 1000 failures, but he invented 1000 ways how to not have electric light. That’s the spirit!
