Yes Ray I am also from that era. You got taught to work hard and you will be fine.

No finance education or what is possible with the right mindset. Thankfully there are people out there that are trying to correct the situation. No thanks to the so called leaders in our society.

Hi Jazz. It sounds like you gre up in the same misinformed era as myself (born in the 1950's). It is an indictment on the educators of the time that there was no attitudinal mentoring in relation to preparing kids for their future. We can read and write and spell and do maths but had little understanding how business worked, what the monetary system was or how to acheive personal growth beyond the 3 R's.

In Sean's post is the line "...You, and every other person, should be most interested in knowing how to nurture that state of mind which will attract wealth." Well I most certainly agree with that. If someone had have taken the time to teach even basic things like the time-value of money and how leveraging works I would be more financially independant than I am now. I am pleased that people like Robert Kyosaki are putting this sort of information out there in an easy to digest form such as his Rich Dad, Poor Dad book.

Hi Sean,
as humans we have the capacity to create - and every creation, every business, everything we create starts with a thought, an idea, a dream.
It's fascinating for me to see that in Napoleon Hills time already the same issues existed and somehow we have not evolved in that area, even so we have come a long way. Books like his and the underlying principals should be taught at school so it becomes second nature for everybody to create the best possible mindset.
I will read the book once more :)

Hi Sean,
When we were young, we were always told that if you work hard you will be successful. There was very little advice around developing the right mindset to achieve success.
Now, I spend my time working on the mindset I need to achieve success and fine-tuning my 'definite purpose'. I think that when I truly have the right mindset, success will be just around the corner.
