Having your end goal fuels the burning desire and having a plan is critical to achieve it. Only with action is a dream realised.

Getting sidetracked is so easy to do. Been there, done that, may do it again. But the key is managing those distractions.

It's not just in business but in all aspects of our lives. That's where there plan comes into play and helps us persist to finish the task at hand.

Hmmm ... still some practicing to be done!

It's fair to say that if we had no setbacks we would achieve success relatively easily but if the foundations start to shake or even crumble where are the skills necessary to stop a total collapse?
I take a slightly different approach to the 'flogging a dead horse' aspect especially if you have burning desire for the end result. The first point is to recognise that the horse is dead (so you're not continuing to bark up the wrong tree). Then instead of giving up and heading off completely in another direction recognise why the horse died and look for a solution to avoid the same outcome.

No offence to Pusstat but there's more than one was to skin a cat. Persistence is thinking 'How can I ...'

I stumbled across a series of three books called Storms of Perfection by Andy Andrews.

Each book is a compilation of letters that successful people have written about a time in their journey to success that tested them, how they worked through and the persistence to go beyond that hurdle.

When the road blocks seem impassable it is quite good to just pick up and read regain faith and strength to continue on.
