Mindset Mastery 172 – The Truth About Freedom

by Sean Rasmussen on January 25, 2010

Mindset Mastery eBookNapoleon Hill believed that few people truly understand or appreciate the true impact of freedom, money, and wealth in the capitalist money system. It seems a timeless topic (as Hill’s lessons are) that many still do not understand all these years after the publication of Think and Grow Rich.

The Whole Truth

You should know the full truth concerning freedom of which so many people boast, and so few understand. As great as it is, as far as it reaches, as many privileges as it provides, it does not, and cannot bring wealth without effort.

There is only one dependable method of accumulating, and legally holding riches, and that is by rendering some service of use. No system has ever been created by which men can legally acquire wealth through mere force of numbers, or without giving in return an equivalent value of one form or another.

Unbeatable Laws Of Wealth

There is a principle known as the law of economics! This is more than a theory. It is a law no man can beat.

Mark the name of the principle, and remember it, because it is far more powerful than all the politicians and political machines. It is above and beyond the control of all the labor unions. It cannot be swayed, nor influenced nor bribed or self-appointed leaders in any calling. Moreover, it has an all-seeing eye and a perfect system of bookkeeping, in which it keeps an accurate account of the transactions of every human being engaged in the business of trying to get without giving. Sooner or later its auditors come around, look over the records of individuals both great and small, and demand an accounting.

“Wall Street, Big Business, Capital Predatory Interests,” or whatever name you choose to give the system which has given us American freedom represents a group of people who understand, respect, and abide by this powerful Law of Economics! Their financial continuation depends upon their respecting the law.

What Your Wealth Depends On

Your wealth, just as Napoleon Hill says here, depends on a basic understanding and implementation of the Law of Economics. And that law is simple—give so that you can receive. Give value in service in some form, and you, too, can build wealth upon it. Put the effort into accumulating wealth and it can be yours; but it will never be yours without your active participation.

Its interesting that once you become aware of this “law of economics”, that your realize how many people a unaware of this principle. This simple philosophy should be taught at high school, to better prepare young adults for more successful life.

The message I receive from this post is to give service in order to receive back wealth: give effort to accumulate that wealth, and become wealthy.

Wal… I am constantly surprised – don’t know why – when I hear stories about people who throw away their lotto winnings. I think I remember a story here in Australia about a man who won 30 million & it went in a blink of an eye – caused soooo many family arguments etc. Inept people who totally “lose it” mentally when they go from having no money to squid-dillionnaires overnight.

They don;t understand the principles of success and wealth. Everyone on planet Earth should be made to read Think and Grow Rich.

Hi Sean, The law of economics is something I will need to study to understand the principles. I had not heard about this law before. It’s so interesting. I guess it could be the basis of the principle of a well known saying that, nothing is for nothing. I may be on the right track…

Hi Sean, Napoleon Hill wrote down the very basic truth of life that we try to avoid a lot of times – give and you shall be given. It’s interesting how many of these truth you can find in the old religious books if you read them with an open mind and not with the interpretation of others in your head.
So why is it so hard for us to just follow this rule and teach it to our kids?
Treat others (and yourself) the way you want to be treated and be active to achieve your dreams. And you don’t need to harm anyone to get what you want if you are willing to take action and therefore create something of value for others.

I have heard of the Law of Economics and read (to be honest) very little on it.

I have read much however on the Pareto principle, which i think is related to the Law of Economics. The Pareto principle is also known as the 80-20 rule. Basically this means that roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. So that’s just like saying 80% of sales comes from 20% of your customers.

I may not have alot of that stuff you people call “money” but that sorta thing is just an illusion for my real wealth is what is in my heart, mind and soul!!

I don’t want to sound corny but that’s stuff I don’t tell people about generally cause they might think I am being corny instead of witty!! It’s all true underneath my witty exterior is a corny underneath-area (or the opposite to exterior). What they say about books does really ring true with me… so if anyone of you meets me one day, you might want to keep that in mind.

But back to my point… this “money” stuff people think they need to “get anywhere in life” is a load of bamboozalooos (new word I just made) – what Sean is saying here makes alot of hagdiggidies (another new one). Foucault, if I can take my mind back to my University studies, said “Knowledge is Power” – he even wrote a whole book on it! As far as I am concerned you could read the title of the book and say you’ve read the whole thing it’s time to get some knowledge. With true knowledge that applies to you, that sparks your internal flame, will soon be a raging fire… you’ll take that knowledge and make it happen for yourself.
