Hi Elly,

I'm not keen on television at the best of times but especially for children. There are some programs that are great for kids but for the most part I think it robs them of developing their imagination.

They never have to be creative as the TV always entertains them. I think your parents were very wise in not having a TV in the house.

Hi Sean

As an artist, I lived in my imagination most of the time as a child. We didn't have Television then in our home (which was a blessing) so I was always drawing, painting, writing stories and would spend hours illustrating them, building things etc.

My strengths were art, english, music and dance at school and as you can see I was a very right brain dominant. It wasn't until I studied Kinesiology and became a practitioner that I realised that I needed a balance of right and left brain function. It took a few balances but I started to notice a huge change where I could eventually live and thrive in both worlds.

Now I am an artist/musician/writer and an options trader/Internet marketer. I am an imaginative musical money maker (lol)!

I always believed I used my imagination every day, throughout the day but I'm finding it more so now that I'm home with my son. At only 4 months old he's not into toys but into people and while I'm home with him all day I try to think of new and creative games to play with him.

As a writer I love letting my imagination take over and love that I can now embrace it to its full potential. Not only am I growing as a writer and as a person, I'm learning how to be a great mom.

Hello Sean,

I have read this blog before and commented before.

I thought I would share a quote that David's late granddad lived by...."If you don't use it, You lose it".

He was a man that believed in using his mind, his body and his spirit for all aspects of life. Right up to his 90th Birtday he was still walking everywhere he could whenever he could. He loved to walk around Mainly (In NSW), going for bush walks whenever he was able to catch a train and then a boat over there. He believed the mind and the body needed to be kept active for them to function at 100%. I love how much inspiration he could give to his family.

Its all about using your mind, with your imagination and taking massive action.

Cheers
Lisa

So again - "use it or lose it". It's true for muscles and brain cells and also creativity. Hm. I guess I will go off and find some more creativity games on the net to sharpen my creative saw :)
