Hi Sean,

Why bother? Because everything you do is worthy of your best effort. If it's important enough for you to do it, then you should always do the very best you can.

If you always do the best you can, you are creating good work ethics where you will never be disappointed in yourself. You will have a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Why bother? When you know what you want, focussed on getting it and are clear on why, it's a question that doesn't even enter your mind.

Hi Sean,

This post shows that putting time and effort in to something you want a positive outcome for is never a waste of time. Obviously the boy's mother wanted her son to have an advantage over other applicants for the position. By doing what she did she had also put in a foundation that sets a good example for him to follow in years to come. In the future he may want to apply for a different job, in another company or a promotion in the same company. Either way the example set by his mother would enable him to apply successfully for any other desired position.

The time she put in for he son's benefit was well worth it and not a waste of time at all.

Thanks Sean!
