It just goes to show that sound business principles will stand the test of time, even across generations. It’s a great thing that Marshall Fields persevered because he has had a huge impact on the way we do business.

I tend to think that you can achieve anything by persevering long enough. It’s kind of hard to imagine though that future generations will be impacted by something I achieved by being able to persevere when the going got tough.

I think sometimes that our un-learning is our greatest challenge nowadays, Renee. i have used that very story about the process of learning to walk, quite often for some years now. Maybe we can help the next generation a bit, by not quite ‘teaching’ so much. Sounds good, doesn’t it!! heh heh. Even parenting can benefit by these principles of the 6 steps.
