Mindset Mastery 138 – Creation And Operation

by Sean Rasmussen on September 4, 2009

Mindset Mastery eBookIdeas require only two things to produce success and wealth. It is two halves to a whole, and those who know how to fit the two together are the ones who succeed and become wealthy.

Production & Recognition

An interesting point about the radio industry is that it is reliant on not only writing talent, but unique writing talent at that. Any excellent writers are no good in writing for the radio because they have been taught to see ideas. But radio, without the advantage of visuals, demands writers who can interpret ideas from a written manuscript in terms of sound.

There is plenty of room in radio for those who can produce or recognize ideas that can breathe new, competitive life into the traditional radio media.

Your Idea?

If the foregoing comment on the opportunities of radio has not ignited your idea factory, you should just move on. Your opportunity is in some other field. If the comment intrigued you in the slightest degree, then go further into it, and you may find the one idea you need to round out your career.

What You Really Need

Andrew Carnegie, Courtesy WikipediaNever let it discourage you if you have no experience in radio. Andrew Carnegie knew very little about making steel–that from Carnegie’s own word–but he made practical use of two of the principles described in this book, and made the steel business yield him a fortune.

The story of practically every great fortune starts with the day when a creator of ideas and a seller of ideas got together and worked in harmony. Carnegie surrounded himself with men who could do all that he could not do. Men who created ideas and men who put ideas into operation, and made himself and others fabulously rich.

Creators And Operators

Note here that Hill does not say—in fact he takes pains to make the contrary clear—that you do not need to “know it all” or “do it all”; you only need to be able to produce and nurture an idea, and fill in the blanks of that which you cannot do. Once again, all it takes is a thinking mind and the determination to succeed to build wealth.

The idea of a “new idea” for radio is interesting. It could be an opportunity waiting to happen. We do need something new and entertaining on radio. Something that would make us want to tune in to on a regular basis. I wonder what it could be……….

Tony Robbins says that we don’t have to understand everything to use it. That there’s a balance between knowledge and use.

It’s a relief that we don’t have to know everything or be good at everything as internet marketers. The stuff we don’t know, we can delegate or bring in others to help.

I do think it’s important to know the basics of things so that you can make proper and well-informed decisions. There’s nothing worse than getting ripped off because you didn’t know the right questions to ask.

But if you can come up with the idea and take it to market – now, that’s a great thing.

My mum always said “you don’t need to know everything, you just need to know where to find it”. Very true indeed.
But I agree with you Lina, a basic knowledge will help to find the right people that you can trust to do the things you are not the expert in.

I like the fact that it takes two halves to make one – “Production & Recognition” – a creater of ideas + a seller of ideas = Success, and that fact that to be successful you don’t have to know everything, be everything but know who you need on your team to be successful. Funny how Andrew Carnegie never knew anything about Steel, but made Steel work for him – creating wealth. That’s my Ideal of Creation and Operation – Perfect :)

I reckon he was very good with people to Lisa, to be the success that he was takes more than just one person. I take my hat of to him because he was the driver to get what he wanted for him and others that worked for him.

Hi Sean,

I’m glad I only need to be able to produce an idea because there’s an awful lot I don’t know how to do. I’m naturally pretty creative though and I’m sure I can find people with the skill sets I need to turn my ideas into successes.

Still, the idea is the most important thing. Once I have that, I’m certainly going to be determined enough to follow it through to completion.

Once you have the idea you need to make sure you have all the necessary knowledge combined that you will need to make it a reality. But that can (or even better should) be the master mind group as that might increase the number of ideas even more.

Hi Renee,

The idea is the most important part. You just have to know where to find the people with the skills to help us bring our ideas to fruition. A master mind group is an excellent way of ensuring you have access to all the skill sets you need to be successful.

I love that final Paragraph Creators and Operators. I can visualize and imagine
Carnegie ’s mind working over time, he would be directing people to where he wants his business to go.
He must have been a very fair and just man to get the best out of the able men and women he had at his disposal. I guess the Men that he entrusted duties to were the people that made him the success that he was. With out these people he would not have achieved his success.

Radio personalities are a different kind of people and I am amazed at the difference from the radio persona versus real life persona. Realizing that most personalities do not write their own material I put forth effort once to write it – main it’s difficult to write something so entertaining listeners don’t change the station.
