Mindset Mastery 125 – Forms Of Imagination

by Sean Rasmussen on July 13, 2009

Hill goes on to explain that there are different forms of imagination. Understanding these forms and their purposes is elemental in unlocking your mind’s potential for wealth creation.

Two Forms Of Imagination

The imaginative faculty functions in two forms. One is known as “synthetic imagination,” and the other as “creative imagination.”

Synthetic Imagination:
Through this faculty, a person is able to arrange old concepts, ideas, or plans into new combinations. This faculty creates nothing. It merely works with the material of experience, education, and observation with which it is fed. It is the faculty used most by the inventor, with the exception of the person who draws upon the creative imagination when he cannot solve his problem through synthetic imagination.

Creative Imagination:
Through the faculty of creative imagination, the finite mind of man has direct communication with Infinite Intelligence. It is the faculty through which “hunches” and “inspirations” are received. It is through this faculty that all basic or new ideas are handed over to man.

It is through this faculty that thought vibrations from the minds of others are received. It is through this faculty that one individual is able to “tune in,” or communicate with the subconscious minds of other men.

An Ideal Partnership

Between these two, what we are given is two essential halves to the whole. One is not necessarily more useful than the other. The synthetic imagination is not less because it requires information input; this is the mind that we can use and shape to our own every advantage. Nor is the creative imagination less of a power for its elusiveness. There is great benefit to be had from each for the person who understands the benefit of molding his or her own mind. To succeed, we need both the ability to use our practical working mind or imagination, and the inhibition of the freer creative mind to find new and inspiring ways to build wealth and success.

Imagination. The ability to dream, think of ideas, fantasise, hope for something better in this world. No wonder Einstein said it’s more important than knowledge.

We owe so much to those in our society who have the imagination to come up with cures for disease, solutions to eradicate poverty, ways to make our planet healthier, enhance communication to bring us together and create things that make our lives easier.

And of course, where would we be without the leaders, action takers and entrepreneurs to make it all happen. Imagination is the beginning to believing that the impossible is possible.

Hi Sean,

As Einstein said, “Logic will take you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” Imagination is the key to coming up with new ideas for creating wealth and building the life of our dreams.

Creativity is vital but we need the practical application of imagination to make an idea a reality.
