Mindset Mastery 17 – The Time For Success

Mindset Mastery Ebook By Sean RasmussenSuccess comes most often in life when you are ready for it; now, that means when you are really ready, which is not always when you think you are ready. Barnes’ success came at that point in time when he was really ready, after he had taken steps to situate himself in the path of success.

“Psychologists have noted, accurately, that when a person is truly ready for something, it will appear.

Edwin Barnes was ready for a business association with Edison; moreover, he was determined to stay ready until he got what he was after.

“He did not say to himself, “Ah, what’s the use? Maybe I should just try to get a salesman’s job.” But, he did say, “I came here to go into business with Thomas Edison, and I will be his business partner if it takes the rest of my life.” And He meant it! What a different story all people would have to tell if only they would adopt a definite purpose, and stand by that purpose until it had time to become an all-consuming, yet powerful, obsession!

“Maybe young Barnes did not know it at the time, but his bulldog determination, his persistence in maintaining and focusing on a single desire, destined him to mow down all opposition, and bring him the opportunity he was seeking.”

    Hi Sean,
I love the bit where you say Barnes situated himself in the path of success. Sometimes I’m not sure if I’m doing all the right things to become successful but I feel that by being part of your forum, reading your books and applying the things that I learn from you and your team, that I am putting myself in the path of success and hopefully, as a result, the work that I do will be successful.

  6. Bring on the success! I’ve got bells on!

  8. Persistence eventually brings up those things that are getting in the way of success, for processing. Sometimes these things are perceived as painful. Sometimes it helps to see a specialist therapist who can get you through these experiences without too much pain. Otherwise without determined persistence, many fail rather than experience the pain. Barnes persisted through the pain. Wal

  9. I am working on having such a determination as young Barns. It’s incredible how focused you can be if you know what you want 🙂

  10. Hi Sean,
I think E. Barnes was very confident right from the start that he would be working alongside Edison. He planned his strategy and waited for his time to be successful.

I think E. Barnes’s greatest hurdle was to get his foot through the door. Once in, then time was on his side. In a prime position for learning as much as possible from Edison and in no hurry. He knew his opportunity would arise if he had the right timing. He eventually proved himself worthy as a partner to Edison and they had a very productive business together.

Barnes achieved his goal, to work with Edison and the rest is history…. as they say 🙂

  11. Hi Sean,

As I was reading this post, and when I read “situate himself in the path of success” my mind clicked over to “Groundhog Day” when Bill Murray jumps infront of a truck in his many attempts to rid himself of the ‘curse’ of his recurring day! That then led me to the image of success being a high speed train that never stops, but is always willing to take on board new and willing passengers. Of course, the only way you can board is by ‘situating’ yourself in it’s path!

    Just a thought!

  13. Hi Sean

I followed you on the internet for two years before I decided to join up with the YOTA forum and by the time I did that I’d had enough interaction and knowledge about how you operated to know that you were the person that I wanted to model and learn from as an internet marketer.

This is by no means hit and miss. Every day I see myself as a highly successful and profitable internet marketer. I put in the hours every day of the week. I have been slow as I have struggled with understanding many of the concepts and had to take hours and hours to learn how to write content. There is no giving up in my head or heart, only success and winning.

This competition is wonderful for me as it is filling in so many gaps that I did not know were there (the ones that I didn’t know that I didn’t know were there).

Thanks Sean, I will definitely be crossing the finishing line, smiling and radiant.
