Mindset Mastery 100 – Feel Your Success

Mindset Mastery eBookHumans are emotional beings; it’s what sets us apart from so many other species, and drives us on to higher thinking and learning. Without emotion, our minds, souls, and bodies are devoid of real human life. That is why emotion plays such a critical role in our financial success and wealthy living.

Mixing Emotion With Action

Remember, though, when you read the statement of your desire (the statement you are using to develop a “money consciousness”) out loud, that the simple act of reading the words is of no consequence–unless you mix emotion, or feeling, with your words. If you repeat a million times the famous Emil Coué formula, “Day by day, in every way, I am getting better and better,” without mixing emotion and faith with your words, you will experience none of the desired results. Your subconscious mind recognizes and acts upon only thoughts which have been well-mixed with emotion or feeling.

This fact is so important that it warrants repeating in practically every chapter, because the failure to understand is the main reason the majority of people who try to apply the principle of auto-suggestion get no desirable results.

Plain, unemotional words do not influence the subconscious mind. You will get no appreciable results until you learn to reach your subconscious mind with thoughts or spoken words which are emotionally charged with belief.

Working Towards Autosuggestion

Do not get discouraged if you cannot control and direct your emotions the first time you try to do so. Remember, there is no such thing as something for nothing. The ability to reach and influence your subconscious mind has its price, and you must pay that price. You cannot cheat, even if you are tempted to. The price you must pay to gain the ability to influence your subconscious mind is everlasting persistence—persistence in applying the principles described here. There is no way to develop this essential ability for a lower price. You and you alone must decide whether or not the reward you are striving for (“money consciousness”), is worth the price—the effort—you must pay for it.

Worth The Price?

No one said thinking was easy; it’s work just as any physical action is. Developing the mind, or more accurately re-developing the mind for wealth and success takes patience, work, and persistence. That work will certainly pay off, though, and be one of the most, if not the most, rewarding things you will ever do, because a healthy, positive, successful mind will serve you throughout all of life, and not just in one part of it.

  1. Jazz Salinger says:

    Hi Sean,

I agree that emotions are the driving force. I need to be able to convince my subconscious mind that my desires are a reality. I put every feeling that I would experience if the goals were real into each repetition of my statement of desire.

Creating a successful mindset does take work and persistence. As yet, I am still struggling to be able to control my mind consistently but I am getting better and better all the time.

  2. This message should be read by everybody who talks about “positive thinking” and gets frustrated because it “doesn’t work”. It’s not just the thought, it’s the passionate thought, the one connected with emotion. The emotion is what paves the way for the thought to the subconscious.

We should be talking about “positive feeling” to change our lives instead of just “positive thinking”. Get all five senses going when you think about your desired goal, feel your way through all the senses and build a connection to the thought. That will stay with your subconscious and help you achieve it.

Btw – music can help a lot. Especially motivational music 🙂

    • That’s sometimes where I get stuck. I say all the right words and feel the thoughts, finally thinking the positive ones but it’s the next part that’s more important. No matter how many times you think and how excited you feel about an elephant arriving on your doorsteps if you don’t lead a trail of peanuts from the zoo to your door he’ll never find you.

    • Hi Renee,

Very well said. I hadn’t thought of it as ‘positive feeling’ before but that’s exactly what it is. It’s all about colouring our words with emotion and faith.

It makes sense because you’re always far more successful with things that you feel passionately about. From now on, I’m going to start saying ‘feel positive’ every time someone needs an attitude adjustment. (Starting with me.)

    • Yes Renee. Get all the senses working! I like that idea of using music – to make the soul/spirit soar! Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma does it for me as well as Vaughn Williams music like Greensleeves.

If the mind is inspired or alive and awake with music that uplifts, then we are more likely to put some passion into out thinking.

I would add too that a healthy diet that affects our general sense of wellbeing is also important.

  3. Emile Coue! So that’s where it comes from! I’ve been repeating that incantation over and over on my morning jogs for about 14 months now on Tony Robbins’ “The Edge” mp3! Learn something new every day, hey? Or, a few new things when following this blog!

  4. When I read my “financial statement” last night I was emotional. I was excited to be taking the action needed to gain the amount I set forth to gain. I eagerly made up the plan to attain it and put it into effect this morning. I can’t wait for the $$’s to start adding up and am so excited to follow up with the results.

I started with a reasonable amount in a fairly short time frame but realize it’s going to happen and then it’s on to bigger and longer.

  5. A corollary to this good article: writing out your statements can be a good way to alter any negativity. By writing you bring it out of the subconscious and see it before your eyes. Just examining your statements in your mind isn’t enough it needs the physical act of writing it out. That way we prevent our mind from auto rationalisations and so on.

Look at the statement/s – and re-write; rinse and repeat until it is both positive and reflects your emotion behind it – desire, hope and so on.

A habit of doing this forms good habits of positive thinking in our subconscious.
