I always told my kids, I did not mind what they did as long as it is lawful, it did not hurt anyone in any way, and what they did was to the best of their ability, then they were successful.
Today I have 3 great adult children who are well adjusted, caring people, all of whom I am extremely proud.

Every child should be congratulated if they have done their best, not put down because of the expectations of others who see success as doing something perfectly.

Maybe we could replace it with something nicer to still be recognizable? Like the love for sharing?

Ok, that will take more than just 2 or 3 generations, but I guess it’s worth to give it a try. And you are definitely someone who started to implement this in others – thanks

I use anniversaries of passings and especially Christmas to appreciate the value of family.
