Gratitude For The Malolo Island Bula Band On YouTube

by Sean Rasmussen on February 14, 2008

In January 2008, Fiji-time was ingrained into my lifestyle for 2 weeks. My wife and 2 sons came with me to Fiji for the 3rd time since late 2004. That was where it all started for me. I’m referring to my turnaround in thinking and my “demise” of financial worries. Fiji was where I went to my first wealth creation seminar and made tremendous breakthroughs as a human being. A “Lifechanging Event” is what I labeled it as. The turning point that literally catapulted my mindset into territory categorized (by the cynics & skeptics) as impossible or “Too Good To Be True”.

I’ve Always Viewed Cynics With Healthy Skepticism!

Pardon the pun. I guess I would never have been any good in the military. I was never a conformer. The phrase “Court-marshal for disobedience” comes to mind. I don’t know, maybe I would have broken to the system. My lack of dogma, my refusal to take someone else’s word for it, made me try time and time again. I failed over and over. Eventually, I hit pay dirt. It took 37 years and it was right in front of me all along. I was blinded by its presence. It’s all in the mind!

YouTube Message of Gratitude From Malolo Island, Fiji

I filmed this video for you on Malolo Island In Fiji. Watch and hear one of my goals that I set in October 2004 whilst at that very wealth seminar that turned it around for me. It is my absolute utmost feeling of gratitude that makes my world go around. Discover that feeling and you have indeed found the Feeling Of Success.

For 2008, my promise and commitment to you is this:

  1. The Promise: To deliver 3 videos like this on SeanRasmussen.com in 2008. One from each of 3 continents of the world. Tough assignment, I know! But someone has to do it…
  2. Motivation: To share my motivation and insights with you. Hopefully, it rubs off. Maybe you can give me some in return. It’s called Universal Law.
  3. Abundance: To show more abundance and gratitude in 2008 than I have in the previous 40 years of my life.
  4. Charity: To donate more to charity than I have ever dreamt of (prior to acquiring an abundant mindset) :)

Abundance: When Others Zig, I Zag

Whilst in Fiji, I noticed the abundance of happiness amongst the natives. The stress levels seem very low. Yet the lack of money is very apparent. It appears to be the other way around in many countries.

So why do so many people live an average life, while so few have an abundant life? Could it be that the decisions of the “majority” is the recipe for an average life? I’ve changed my thinking to that of the “Minority”. Because it’s the very few that think abundant that have outstanding results, hence they have abundance in their lives.

My results are rolling in now and I have enough to give away to the ones that need more. I learned to Zig when others Zagged. I started to travel the road less travelled. The road to success. And the road to success lies within.

The Malolo Island Bula Band – World First On YouTube

Have a look at this. Meet my friends from Malolo Island: Iliesa on lead guitar, Tevita on drums and Viliame on rhythm guitar. They are The Malolo Island Bula Band playing “Stuck On You” by Lionel Ritchie.

These guys know success. To them it is not monetary. Many Fijians work for the cost of a few cocktails in a 5 star resort, every day. Yet they are happy! They have abundance. Fijians can teach us many things about happiness. Stress is literally unknown to them.

These guys are as honest as the day is long. Bless them all. I filmed them and am sending DVD’s back to the Malolo village so they can all watch The Malolo Island Bula Band in action. There’s more to come. I’m very grateful for meeting them. They are excited to be on YouTube. Some things that others take for granted are a gift from heaven to others.

Sota tale (Fijian for: See you soon). Bula!

I’m with you all the way Sean. I’ve gone away from 21st century Sept. 2007 and done Platinum Pursuits. It was there that I met a man who has now introduced me to a wonderful team of people who have HEALTH and WEALTH as two of their driving forces, working for the company ‘Mannatech’. I’m networking, learning new things about myself, enjoying the challenge and making my dreams come true. I’ve started two trusts with my husband, have bought our first rental property, now have trading accounts open over a no. of platforms for cfds and options, have created a new business with business cards and a website, started practising the law of attraction and simply having a good time whilst appreciating everything I’ve got and have to come. I’m pleased to report that like you I have made many goals for 2008 and am looking forward to achieving them, so best of luck with yours and I hope to meet you some time soon.

Well done Petra. Setting goals is good. Reviewing them every day is a must. The important part is not necessarily to action them every day as to simply think of them every day. Reminding yourself of the path you are on will keep you on track. Stay motivated and you will be inspired to grow fast. The Fijians on Mololo Island helped boost my motivation to a whole new level.

Hi Sean, thanks for posting the Malolo Island Bula Band. I enjoyed their rendition of “Stuck On You!” I can see how they would motivate you with their perspective of abundance. I spent a year living in Bali a long time ago and the Balinese people are the same as you describe the Fijians. Their perspective certainly is different to ours is as we live in such a progressive society, and yet, they are happy people with little stress!

I look forward to your videos from your intended travels. What a great lifestyle… and yes… someone has to do it ;)

Cheers

Thanks Ange. I filmed the Malolo Island Bula Band for hours over 3 days. I have many clips with them. I have a great version of “Country Road” with John Denver. The band didn’t actually have a name. I asked them and they made one up. The first was: “The Malolo Island Coconut Tree Band” because they were playing under a coconut tree. :)

Hi Margaret
Confidence comes with results, so it’s a catch 22 situation. One of my mentors once said: “Fake It Until You Make It”. Basically, what he meant is to keep telling yourself you can do it. Take on smaller, easier tasks to build up your confidence, then take on slightly bigger tasks until you have the confidence to achieve the big ones.

Thankyou for sharing – it is great to be able to see how and where you made some of your break throughs. What better place to discover happiness and lifestyle than in a tropical paradise?!

The pressures and demands that modern society creates can easily distract people, myself included, from the simple pleasures of life. I have also found that the times when I have completely unplugged from my daily routine have been some of the most memorable in my life so far. All the more reason for me to keep chasing a life less ordinary.

I look forward to reading more about your exploits.

Hi Sean,

Fiji looks absolutely beautiful. I’m going to keep reading to see where you go next and to find out if you reached your goal of sharing your message from three continents of the world.

I really think your insights and motivation are rubbing off on me. I am learning so much from your blog but the fact that I am reading it daily is reinforcing the lessons for me.

I’m not surprised that the Fijians experience less stress and are generally happier than us despite the fact that there is a clear lack of money. I am really going to put more effort into expressing my gratitude and thinking more abundantly.

I’ll see you on the road less traveled.

Thanks for the insight Sean.

All the islands operate the same way. They have always had a simple life which we could all learn from.
I look forward to seeing more of your videos as you make your goals become reality.
I am learning very quickly to appreciate what I have.

Bula Bula. When I holidayed in Fiji I noticed that the natives were very happy but didn’t seem to be all that goal orientated. Covered in flies? That’s ok. We’re happy. Fish pushed out by billions of jellyfish? No worries, we’re happy. More Indians than natives? Bastards! We’re stronger than they are, we’re taking over by force, then we’re happy. I don’t get it.

When we visited Fiji, we did not see The Malolo Island Bula Band in action, however, I am sure at our resort it had to be their cousins …. looked and sounded almost the same. I must admit, when walking around and chatting with the locals, their calm, slow demeanor is so easy to adopt and appreciate. Few gray hairs here!! Bula!!

What a cool band “Malolo Island Bula Band” – they are gorgeous…

You are amazing to have that many goals, and dreams to take your family to so many different places all over the world. That will be a blast.

My boys are my reason for why I do what I do. They keep me focused and on track.

I so get how you could not reform and be in the military. Hubby David did not last in the airforce because he could not listen “to some idiot telling him what to do” (acutally the words to describe the guy are not fit to print here) !!!

Sometimes in life things that you are searching for are so much closer than what you think they are, so close that they are glued to your face….One book that comes to mind for that theory is “Acres of Diamond” !!!

It’s a great place, Fiji. Visited it a couple of times during my cruise ship piano playing days, and was always knocked out with the happy smiling people. Most of them are very hot sales people too and will sell you a souvenir if you only glance sideways at them.
Thankyou for recording Malolo Island Bula Band, and putting them on YouTube. That would have blown their minds. I enjoyed their rendition of “Stuck On You!” It was so laid back, an reminded me of you and Yang on the webinars.
Cheers

Hi Sean,
I haven’t been to Fiji but have been to other islands in the pacific so can appreciate the holiday you had with the laid back lifestyle and the beautiful beaches.

I know a couple of people who are investing in holiday villas in Fiji and it appears that money is going into that little island. Many Fijians are here in Aus to make their fortune and hopefully return to their village back home.

Jill.
