Aussie Politician Becomes a Twit
Australian Liberal opposition leader, Malcolm Turnbull has joined the growing force of Online Twits. He is now officially Twittering online, enabling his supporters and foes to keep an eye on his everyday activities. Of course, being a part of Twitter (Social Media) is a smart move by Malcolm and will earn him cudos with the voters, if he survives the liberal leadership scuffle to the next election.
Of course, this will also keep him more accountable… Now, big brother is watching (the voters)
Barrack Obama Has It Mastered
My Web Vision 2020 social media clients can learn from this. It’s all about publicity. You only need to look online at Facebook to see how well Barrack Obama is faring with online supporters. He currently has 2,139,312 supporters on Facebook vs John McCain with 575,601 loyals. Mind you, if McCain’s supporters are the same age as him, there’s a fair chance they don’t use FaceBook!
John Cleese Gets A Laugh Out Of Sarah Palin
Everyone is getting involved online. One of my all time favorite comedians, John Cleese, has made some pretty funny statements about Sarah Palin. I suppose if you get in the public face with an opinion, there are going to be some responses, especially online. Maybe there is scope for another episode of Faulty Towers with the US presidential candidates: Obama Bin Biden & Michael Palin-McCain. Sounds scary to me…
Whoever wins will possibly have to deal with the same fate as Herbert Hoover (1929-1933). Get the blame for a World Depression that his pre-presidents (and bankers) had left him with. Good luck!
The Online Watergate
The internet is now going to keep our politicians more honest. I’m waiting for the day when the online Watergate occurs. Maybe it will be through Twitter.
By the way, if Aussie Prime Minister Kevin Rudd want to learn how to do this whole Twitter thing, maybe his office should give me a call. Seems he’s got it sussed anyway on MySpace and FaceBook.
Have a most outstanding day!

Sean - a fall from your usual elite quality with the posting of this video. I have come to expect and trust when Sean says its funny than its funny or when Sean says this is important info then it is important info. Supporting and publishing the mockery of public figures does your reputation as a ‘good man’ and ‘peoples champion’ no good. I prefer know you as a leader who doen’t need cheap b-grade footage like that to get by in this world of attraction laws.
All the best outstanding Sean!

Hi Tommy.
Fair call and well observed.
As much as I don’t agree with mockery of anyone, I also believe that these public figures are attracting cause and effect upon their people. For instance, for a politician to stand up and be publicly Pro-Life (totally against abortion), yet Against-Life in their war stance in Iraq where millions of children are affected in horrible and totally unacceptable conditions directly caused by the US, that just deserves some public retaliation. People will mock those people everytime.
John Cleese’s reaction to Sarah Palin as a joke is not necessarily nice, but is also a reflection of what she is attracting from her own actions. John McCain even called the US “fellow prisoners” in a public speach. Now that is attracting some bad karma, that’s for sure.
But, point taken, Tommy. I understand an opinion will always dissappoint someone. Opinions aren’t right - they are just opinions. My standards may slip being part of the human race, but there are also many that appreciate the political undertone (though I take no sides).
The law of attraction “attracts” mockery of public figures when they upset the voters.

Sean,
I did come by to see how you dealt with the pushback on the not-so-funny John Cleese video. I was offended by his un-funny attacks on a talented AMERICAN candidate for Vice-President. “Cleese has never reached wurthering heights in his career as an actor, mostly supporting roles and his ability to be funny is often weak.” I place this in quotes because it is not really true. Cleese is a good supporting actor. But my saying he is not could be taken as gospel and pushed out in various formats and Cleese would be harmed, and he would not have earned it. So, likewise his parroting the tripe our Hollywierd types are yammering has harmed a very good person. I encourage you and your friends to actually look at her and listen to her for yourselves and then decide your position on her intellect.
Unfortunately, Sean, you have not shown me you understand the Law of Attraction at all. But I wish you well in your endeavors to build a financial empire. But remember to take a moment to stop and think sometimes. It is good for the mind.

Thanks for your comments, Ken. I feel it has “attracted” a response and deserves one.
First of all. I have no intention to offend anyone. There are a lot of different opinions out there.
I’m not sure where you have got this Financial Empire thing from. Are you financially motivated? I’m not. I’m family and charity motivated.
I don’t claim to be an expert on the law of attraction and cannot ever recall claiming to be one. Just like, no one else has the right to claim either. Of course, that is only my opinion.
I do feel that you would have taken less offense if you were neutral about the outcome of the election. I do regret offending your political views however regret more the offense that both sides of politics are giving their voters and the terrible mess the previous administration has left them to inherit. Surely my “Obama Bin Biden” statement would be more offensive than the video with John Cleese, right?
Outside the US (it does excist) most people think the current US president is either a doofer or dont care. It seems very few actually like the guy. It will be nice with a change and I’m sure many will agree.
So that has everything to do with the law of attraction. Opinions attract attention, just like your comment and the few before it. I suspect they are just about to start…
Thank you for your response, Ken. I do value it and I wish you all the best.
P.S. I don’t dislike any of the candidates. They are equally funny.

Hi Sean,
Being an Aussie myself, I think we have a somewhat different sense of humour than our counterparts in the USA. I don’t take offense to the John Cleese video. I see it as a comedic actor doing what he does best! The subject could have been me and I still would have laughed
If we can’t laugh at ourselves who can we laugh at? I don’t spend any time following the pollies so I really don’t know them. I only know what others tell me and even then, I don’t know it to be true.
As for the “law of attraction” we all attract what we put out and I would really hate to be a politician as they are always under scrutiny from the public no matter what they say or do. Everybody has an opinion and as you said, it’s just an opinion. We do have free will and freedom of speech after all.
I believe Malcolm Turnbull is following you on twitter, LOL. Maybe he’ll come and download your Secret Law of Attraction book and spread it through Parliament House… wishful thinking on my part
Keep throwing in some funnies for us Sean. I enjoy all that you write here on your blog!

I was just thinking that I’d locate something funny this time. Anyone but John Cleese wouldn’t have made it. Actually, Billy Conolly would’ve but he would REALLY offend. The Scottish have knack of saying it the way it is and that is not appreciated with the straightlaced and boring stereotypes of this world. Fortunately there are stack of people with open minds.

I totally agree with John Cleese! Palin knows nothing and has been trained. She absolutely does not qualify to run as vice president. Of course, Obama has also been trained. Obama has been a politician for less than 300 days, and will probably be the president. I oppose McCain and Obama because both are fascist anti-capitalist morons.
As an American, I jut want government out of my life and out of my earnings. All federal income taxes are unconstitutional and kill small business. McCain might be a war hero, but his pro-war stance and big government spending make him a fascist in my book. Obama is even worse, he is a Marxist. Here comes the collectivist world, where we all live like the Borg on Star Trek.
Sean, you are an Individualist who works hard and makes things happen! If you want something out of life, you make it happen yourself. I don’t want the government doing anything for me.

Wow! Thanks Bobby.
Your comment is very timely. I just checked out your latest post. Your a very well respected blogger and I like your “neutral” status in the political stakes. (I’m sure some will dissagree
)
Hey, respond back again and tick the Ajax CommentLuv icon so people can find your latest post. I’ll paste your URL in here: http://revellian.com/2008/10/17/obama-mccain-big-brothers-candidates/

Hey Bobby, now that’s what I call free will and freedom of speech. Some people are more out there than others. Usually, the “others” are worried about how they might look and what people think of them. Well, I for one know you only through the blogosphere and I would really like to shake your hand right now… or even give you a hug, lol. I like that fact that you don’t hold back at all. Have a great weekend

John Cleese is notoriously left of field, but the parrot analogy he used is - I think - one of the best and most articulate ways to describe what is going on with Sarah Palin. It is frightening that so many do not realise how little conscious thought she puts into her answers.
Perhaps the saddest thing, though, is that this really can’t be limited to Palin. The entire campaigning process is a matter of delivering memorised speeches, and it’s little wonder why a politician will answer a question… with an answer that does not address the question.
It is much like Bush, who hasn’t done anything new in the realm of US presidentials. Is there a president who has *not* allowed death for the purpose of personal gain? Is there a president who has *not* sold out to funding, because the government is indeed iike any other business - it must make a profit? The only difference is, Bush was simply so terrible a diplomat that he could not hide it from his people like past presidents have - and has even made it news (which is a good thing!).
So many accuse specific candidates of this kind of thing, but it’s really just the political system. The US media successfully blacked out the only hope against this destructive political cycle - Ron Paul - so in a large sense the result of the election does not matter. They are, indeed, puppets.
But I guess the masses need something to get excited about as they unconsciously sacrifice their life to meaningless 9-5 jobs, while absorbing the fear and “importance” of the evening news, and think that they actually have a democratic say in this secretive governing body who takes half their paycheck.
It is an amazing life to try and change the world. It is a sad life to try and change the world through politics.
Wake up and break free!

Well said, Tris. Don’t forget Ronald Reagan. What a puppet he was! GW Bush makes him look good. Ronald Reagan recorded a record, as a B grade actor, about “The Dangers Of Socialised Medicine”. It was distributed to the US people. What he was saying was this:
Don’t let your government take charge of your health care. You can’t have free health care provided by the government. It wont work. (It’s better to pay through your nose to insurance companies that throw people out on the street in the US if they can’t pay the bill)
Oh the joys of brainwashing and indoctrination. Reagan sure was a Doozy!
