I’m on my way to get my Melbourne Internet Marketing session underway. After going to Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide over the past month, I am now still looking very much forward to visit and enjoy the very hospitable city of Melbourne. I have no doubt the good people of Victoria will turn on the weather for me and make it a very enjoyable stay.
Having been extremely busy, and having bucket loads of fun, producing Internet Marketing Program Of The Year, I now have more time up my sleeve to enjoy traveling and catching up with friends and students of mine. I haven’t forgotten about my goal to travel to South Africa this year (The World Cup in Soccer will be a good time for this), and there are many other destinations on my planned travel itinerary.
Melbourne Has Been Good To Me
Melbourne has provided many great internet marketing results for me, especially in the SEO stakes. The SEO Case Study was about a website named Melbourne Pizza Delivery. We (me and my students) started this SEO Case Study from scratch and placed the website Number 1 on Google in 90 days. We didn’t want to rush it, hence the time span. Yet, number 1 in 90 days is pretty cool when it is done in a way that ANYONE can do it

The Melbourne Cup Winner
We also produced a Melbourne Cup Winner. Well… not one of the kinds that pay big prize money at Flemmington. We just ranked a webpage number one on Google for the term: Melbourne Cup Winner. It brings in amazing amounts of traffic to my blog, especially around the first Tuesday of November – for some reason…
There will be other kinds of winners this weekend in Melbourne. I, for one will feel like one just from meeting some of my great Melbournian friends (as long as we don’t talk footy. My team loses a lot! )

Last time I was in Melbourne I got food poisoning!! From a meat pie in St Kilda – so many fond memories. And I am sure fond memories for the cafe I ate from that I had to return to use their toilets’ within a space of 30 minutes after eating said pie, fond memories for the people on the tram going back into Melbourne. You’ve never seen so many people making a run for their lives. That was the worst 24 hours of my life – I thought I was going to die!!!!

Wow Internet Marketers!
Yesterday Belinda and I had the pleasure to go the the Melbourne TAGR seminar to learn from all the speakers they had lined up for us. Its great to go to these type of events because you learn things that expand your thinking with lots of great ideas to take home to implement.
We were also thrilled to have the chance to meet and talk to Sean.
It was great to see him in action, and listen to him speak, he is a natural on stage, and genuinely wants to be able to help others.
He even gave me the opportunity to say a few words in front of 300+ people, about how I’ve found the YOTA Experience. Let me tell you, I have never been so nervous before in my life, so I can appreciate how hard it is to get up a speak in front of a crowd.

That’s a great idea Renee, but event organisers are usually very strict about recording devices at these things. My husband offered to take photos of Sean on stage, just a gesture to say thanks for everything he’s done, but we didn’t want to risk it with the organisers in the end. Shame, though.

I would have loved to have been in Melbourne for your seminar. I’m not too fussed on the weather but I would have coped to learn more about internet marketing from you.

Glad to hear you missed the cyclone. How far north are you ? I spent a year in Cairns seaplane flying in 1988 – 1999 I enjoyed it but my wife didn’t, and that’s why I live in the Gold Coast Hinterland now.

Melbourne Pizza Delivery was a “life” experiment by Sean to demonstrate to the members of the Yota forum how fast you can get a brand new website to rank number one on Google if you stick to the rules. The website is life and if you google for that keyword it comes up first after the adds and the google maps.
Have a look at it, it’s a yummy example for SEO usage and internet marketing applied.

Thanks Renee. Also, Melbourne is a keyword for this blog post so I think comments about it are highly relevant for this thread. Also, Sarah, Sean did warn that subscribing to the comments may get out of hand, especially in a massive thread such as this one! Which is why I haven’t subscribed at all. Renee: Thank you for that clarification, it certainly helps clear up a lot of the miscommunication I was under. Outside of that it’s the random conversations that make me feel I’m eavesdropping on that I was referring to. Not necessarily on this blog in particular but on many.

Picked a topic he knew little about, from thin air, and got it on front page of google within a couple of months for that keyword. Very, very cool.

Funny that – probably because you always post a well optimised blog post about the Melbourne Cup just before it happens – announcing the winner…I was thinking about this the other day with Earth Hour – do you do the same with these sorts of events, knowing that they are up and coming and people are looking for information? Probably not a good example…searching for Earth Hour when everyone has their electricity (and computers) turned off probably isn’t the smartest idea…scrap that.
