Dr John Demartini

My wife, Cherie, is currently at a 7 day seminar with Dr John Demartini in Sydney, Australia.

Cherie and Dr John Demartini

You Are Who You Associate With

Someone once told me (several times) that you are who you associate with. What they meant was this: Hang around poor people and you develop a poor mindset. Hang around rich people and develop a rich mindset. The same applies to success, self improvement and peak performance.

So when you hang around for 7 days with Dr John Demartini, chances are his ideas are going to rub off on you. To someone who likes his ideas that is a good thing! I for one, am one of those.

Healthy body, healthy mind, right? Yes, indeed! And the opposite applies too!

Honey, I’m Off To Sydney For 7 Days – Do You Mind?

My initial reaction when Cherie said she’d like to go to the seminar was “Jubilant”. I agree with a lot of Demartini’s teachings. To have my wife there and learn from John, to me, is pure Gold! As much as I’d like to be there myself, well, let’s just say someone had to stay home and look after the kids (and blogs). My turn will come very soon and I am a great believer in crashing out of your comfortzone for maximum achievable growth. Taking me along would only make it more comfortable for her and that means less growth.

Besides! Who would post this story to you if I was galavanting across the country to seminars… πŸ˜‰

One Defining Moment

Last year, I had one defining moment that really stood out in my mind. I was listening to “The Secret” 4 hour soundtrack with Rhonda Byrne (for the 13th time probably). Dr John Demartini said:

When the voice and the vision, on the inside, is more clear, more loud and more profound, than the opinions on the outside, then you have truly mastered your life” – Dr John F Demartini

That statement really means something! If you don’t get it – Read it again and again until you do get it. I listened to it over and over until it was burned into my subconscious forever. It is Gold!

If you have been to a Demartini seminar before, I’d like to hear from you in the comments section below.

Have a most outstanding day!

  1. Hi Sean,
I’ve not had the opportunity to go but I’ve watched a prelude DVD on him and was very impressed with what he said and it helps to read The Secret to understand where he is coming from.

I recently went and saw Topher Morrison speak for an entire weekend for FREE! and it changed my life. It has taken me 40 years to understand that personal development is the key to getting on with “getting on with it”.

If you do not have the mindset then you simply cannot proceed beyond where you are.

The statement you have provided is a great one and I have certainly made progress because when I read that statement I understand it and get that amazing feeling inside when I think about where I will be in a few years from now. There is so much that Dr Demartini has to offer us and it is beneficial to people like myself who are now finding that path to wealth.

I’m off to do the Massland seminar in June and I cannot wait. In the mean time I am preparing both mentally and educationally for the event.

Thanks for your continued motivational emails. I lap them up!!

    Eileen.

  2. Hi Eileen
Ditto! It took my 40 years too. Have fun at Massland. Mark has a few things to offer from a mindset perspective too. Oh, and thank you for the kind words πŸ™‚

  3. The funny thing is that I told myself that I would be wealthy by 40 and it did not happen but what did happen was that I opened my eyes and am now seeing things that I have been blind to for my entire life. I have always done a little personal development along the way where I could, but it is only now that I realise that it is paramount to having what you want in life.

Must be something about the 40 milestone (either that or an odd mid-life crisis? πŸ™‚ ) that sets us on a new adventure. How lucky to have been shown the road to this adventure.

Since your post on being grateful for everything, I am more aware of the thought of it and every time I am I hold onto it and think of all the things I am grateful for. As a result, I am grateful more often and the more I am grateful the more I think about it so it just snowballs.

    Eileen.

    • Wow!! I really do think there is something to this 40 thing πŸ™‚ I have just crossed 40 and have embarked on an entire new life (This time crafted by me). I plan to take action (eat healthy, exercise etc ) and at the same time leave myself open to any universal nudges along the way πŸ™‚
      All the best to U.

  4. I also told myself I would be “wealthy” and able to retire when I was 40. I’ve come to realize that it was a different, better kind of wealth that I got. I meant money back then. I got real wealth. And funnily enough, the money follows once you are comfortable with yourself.
And for that, I am Grateful.

  5. Hi Sean and Eileen, Well done guys, I am glad to hear these points, just by accident I heard from one of my friend that John Martini will have a session at RSL club of Dee why in Sydney, While I heard just you guys all talking about it, what a coincident.

Well I must confess that in reading Secret, and practicing this book, I am a baby, so wish me grow up. I believed since 20es (age) self-development is the foundation for what you want, but I turned around a lot by probably having many varieties in mind and not cleared them enough.
One lovely person let me know who is Topher Morrison?
    Alan

  6. Hi Alan
John Demartini seems to be everywhere. Take the opportunity to see him.

  7. Hi Alan,

Dr Demartini would be great to see so go see him! πŸ™‚

The important thing is that you became aware that you needed to clear your mind to get real vision.

Topher Morrison practices NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) amongst other things. He has a website http://www.tophermorrison.com and was in Aust. for a short time. I do not know if he is still here. He might be up your way but I’m unsure (I’m in Melbourne).

I’ve not taken baby steps since turning 40. It has all come rushing in and I’m enjoying the new growth in my life.

Sean, interesting that you have a parallel with stages of my life. I wonder how many others are the same??

I just turned 40 in April and I didn’t even celebrate nor feel the need to as I didn’t feel ready to turn 40. At the same time, I did not feel depressed, I just felt content (which was a surprise given that I’ve been unhappy about every Birthday since turning 32). I’m saving the big celebration for a couple of years when I am where I want to be in my life. I have made mental plans as to what I will be doing but I need to add them to my “vision” board.

I look forward to the continual growth in every area of my life and to the opportunity to encourage others to take new steps in their life to make change for a positive future, no matter what their goals.

    • Hey Eileen,

Just wanted to throw in my five cents worth (plus GST!) with regard to the whole ‘turning 40′. I was going to celebrate it, but didn’t due to various unimportant reasons (well, unimportant for the purpose of what I want to say.). But I wasn’t concerned about it. For me, for some reason, turning 38 had me feeling down. It was kind of a ’40 by association’, as I was dwelling on the fact that in 2 year time, I was going to be 40. But when 40 came and went, there wasn’t much to worry about.

      Just a thought!

      Cheers,

      Pete

  8. Hi Eileen
At one stage I decided, there is no point looking back for anything but reminiscing and to accept that past cannot be changed. This one statement changed my mind to this point:

Everything I have done in my life, every success, every failure, everything that has happened to me, has led me to this point in life. I would not want to change one single thing

I am happy and content where I’m at AND I want to grow and improve all the time. Not to be better but to keep improving and learning to stay interesting and interested.

    • Hey Sean,

I came to the same conclusion when Cher released “If I Could Turn Back Time” in 1989. As I listened to the lyrics, I realised that all that had happened to me, both the good and the bad, had led me to be the person I was at the time, and that I am now. If I had have changed just one incident in my life, sure I might be in a stronger more positive position than I am now, but I could also be worse off, or even dead.

      Just a thought!

      Cheers,

      Pete
.-= Pete´s last blog ..peteboyr: @bullhunter Thanks, Sean. Just reviewing the webinar, and will get to your blogs after that. Big night ahead, pizza on the way! =-.

      • The fact is, there is no past to go back to, it has gone, you cannot “go back”

There is no future to grab onto, it is not in existence. The only time is right now.
What we do right this moment leaves an impression, one we will either be happy about in the perceived future (when we ‘get’ there) or one we will carry remorse for.

The trick is to be creating happiness in each and every moment.

This is nothing but just the simple truth. ‘you are who you associate with”. I love this man don’t stop sending me such interesting articles of yours Dr John.

  10. Thanks Kingsley
I will keep posting the best I can πŸ™‚

  11. Thanks a lot for a fine read. Keep up the good work!

  12. I really enjoyed reading these comments. and I have to add that I felt awful about turning 30. I am 33 now and life has been great since I turned 30. At the moment I am really working on my mindset to excell in my life. In the last couple of weeks I have looked at my life at a different perspective and I am letting go of some of my past. I picked up a book recently that I am reading at the moment. Secrets of the millionaire mind – think rich to get rich by T. Harv Eker.
easy reading, and very inspiring. I haven’t heard of Dr John Demartini or Topher Morrison before, but it sounds like I need to check them out, and start learning of them. Would love to go to all these seminars but I have to stick with homestudy at this stage until I have created more wealth. I have also a couple of young children to look after. thank you for your excellent blog Sean, you are one of my mentors at the moment!

  13. Hi Brenda
Thank you! That means a lot to me. I don’t mind helping in this way. BTW, you are just a spring chick at 33…

  14. @Eileen- oh dear! I tell myself I will be set by the time I am 40 too! Well I do rate success outside of financial. There are many ways to be rich in life.

Thanks for sharing this post Sean.

  15. Hello Dr Nicole πŸ˜€
The funny thing about setting goals (I will retire by the time I’m 40), is that we are procrastinating in a way. “Why do now what we can put off until tomorrow?”. It works fine if it’s coupled with instant action and constant reminders. I found myself thinking: I’ll have plenty of time. But I was really just doing what the rest (or most) do. Taking one day at a time and doing things that matter “tomorrow”.
Oh, to be the Devils advocate πŸ˜‰

I just want to thank you Sean & everyone within the forum for putting yourself out there to the world. I NEVER thought I’d be part of an online forum but enjoy everything I read & have gained so much. Six months ago I found you via 21CA, found Planet Wealth and my world of wealth creation has exploded since. I thought I was a very mentally strong person but have had to dig deep to get to the truth of my wants & neeeds. That release in itself has lead me to so many more opportunities of growth & giving. I look forward to meeting you one day. Thank you to everyone else within the forum too. I take your words & relate it to my own life & encourages me further to make everything happen……before I’m 40 ; )

  17. Hello Aroha.
All said very well! We are becoming quite a community of likeminded people here. Now, having said that, I’m going to shut down the blog and start playing computer games with my sons πŸ˜€

I have been following the teaches of Dr John for over 15 years, his impact upon my life has been phenomenal. Continue to study with him and see how life can be so fulfilling.

  19. Thanks Dr Mark
My wife is so excited about the past week. I can see myself being booked in for a session (or 2) soon.

  20. Keep up the good work Sean.
I saw Dr John last year and “he touched my soul!” The audience of 600 people was so quiet, eager to catch every word of wisdom he spoke. He is a man on a mission and doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing – enlightening people.
    Glenda.

  21. Hi Sean,

Thanks so much for the blog entries. I have only read a few of what you have posted in total, but as I am a devoted student of Dr Demartini’s work, having been involved with his work for over 18 months now, it naturally caught my eye when I hear someone else speak of him and his work.

The principles Demartini teaches are transformative by their very nature, and I have completely transformed many areas and aspects of my life since beginning to live the philosophy. Nothing I have found in “self-development” industry (even though Demartini is strictly a human behavioural specialist rather than a Guru) has been so grounding and directly powerful in achieving results. I love what Demartini says about his own work – “It works if you work it.”

I am a Trained Facilitator in the Demartini method, and that is certainly a rewarding experience to be had. I’m also familiar with [Name Withheld] and Topher, they are both on my contact list, and to my best knowledge they are great guys doing amazing things for the world.

Looking forward to being in touch! Thanks again!

  22. I have known Dr. Demartini for 18 years and have attended 70+ seminars with him. Dr. Demartini is a genius of our day. He works around the clock spreading his message of love and light. The Demartini Method is a scientific, full proof way to dissolve any human problem. My perceptions of life and death have shifted as I have learned to replace fear and guilt with inspired action. Since meeting Dr. Demartini and applying his teachings in every area of my life I have gotten organized according to my priorities. My skills in finances, physical and mental well being, and communication with others is purposeful. It’s as though an inner voice of wisdom has been awakend within. I am grateful for Dr. Demartini and encourage others to open their minds and hearts to the great teachings available through The Demartini Institute.

There’s no one else quite like Dr. John F. Demartini- he’s one of a kind and worth checking out. He literally lights up the room with his energy as people learn to express their genius. It’s amazing!

Thanks for the forum. Love, Karrie

  23. Hi Karin
Thanks for your inspired words! I becomes more apparent with every passing day that Dr Demartini has a massive influence on us and this world.

All this get rich quick mentality wil only end in tears. Look at Bernie Maddoff! Hope you all have a real nice day now!

  26. Hi Sean,

Someone on Facebook asked if I was familiar with John Demartini’s work so I goggled him and found your site, being an Aussie I read on, may I make an observation.

For most of us as we we begin a process of expanding our world, we may becomes dissatisfied, so we search, in searching we find something which expands our knowledge to some degree. Yet is it truth and ideal for us?

We may drift along or we set goals aspiring to achieve something, I know as this has happened to me, yet in all this process have we asked our selves, What is My Destiny?

To find your Destiny, think about what you are passionate about, not what you think you Desire.

To move forward clear away your blocks and automatic learned programs that are no longer serving you, most of us have hundreds of them, you can do this almost instantly, if you know how, or one at a time.

The next step is wait for your inspiration, it will come, be open to it and follow this inspiration with the action that was communicated, things will flow and doors will open you will meet people, there are no coincidences.

  27. Hello,

I saw John Demartini a few days ago, he was awesomily (is that a word? now it is) inspiring, passionate and I had plenty of “aha” moments. It was free, that was a nice surprise.

I would urge anyone who has the opportunity to see him, do it & prepare for your mind to be expanded, that’s what we’re here for. He is lovingly great at doing this and it is freshing to see him as is of “heart” and genuienly wanted to help people break through their barriers and live their best life.

The best is yet to come,

I just spent a weekend listening to John talk (act). I was curious as to what I would discover and was amazed at the results. John speaks of opposites and the balance of everything and strangely EVERYTHING he spoke of had an opposite reaction in me. All of his ideas I took on board and as soon as I did, all opposites to what he spoke of came into mind with the amazing results. Now I have answers to what John is unaware of. Ironically, what he suggests he has found answers to, have manifested in a different form. This is wonderful!! Sigh….I love the balance.

  31. Hi Sean
I have yet to get my hands on The secret but friends of mine have told me so much about it and that I have to get it, and after reading this I have to get it fast, thanks for such a great blog. I have to find myself again and reading the comments here I think Dr John is the person who can help me.

  32. What is gold is that you looked after the kids for a week so that your wife could attend – thats a great partnership. My partner did that for me so I could go to one of your seminars.

    Hi Sean,

I’ve never been to Dr DeMartini’s seminars but they sound awesome judging by the fact that you reference him often, Cherie is going to see him and everyone in the comments section loves him.

I totally agree that you are who you associate with. If you spend time with people who are trying to improve themselves and their lives, they will be more encouraging and supportive of your efforts.

I think if you spend time with people who are where you want to be, you will be more likely to work hard to get to their level. You will learn the traits and habits of successful people just by being around them.

I think a daily dose of your blog, Sean, is just the best thing.

I hope Cherie has a wonderful time on her course in Sydney.

It is imperative that we mix with like minded people. That doesn’t mean to the exclusion of everyone else of course. We will be influenced in some way by the people we mix with so we need to choose wisely.

Sometimes we are attracted to certain people because they are fun to be around. That is a good enough reason to make them a friend.

We can also be attracted to various people who are our “image’ of success and we want to learn from them. People such as De Martini can be a wonderful mentor for people who feel they can relate to him and learn from him.

I think there has to be a balance. You really need to associate with successful people if you want to be successful. It really helps to network with like-minded people and have access to a Mastermind group.

It’s okay though to have friends just for fun. I don’t think you should exclude anyone from being your friend unless they are bad for you. I think you know in your heart who you should associate with.
