Inspire With Your Gratitude

October 11th, 2008

It’s not often a 9 minute video will grab my attention. I’m not much for wasting time dithering online but this video about Clay Dyer put a tear or two of gratitude in my eyes. Thank you to my friend, Fisherman, for inspiring me with this video on the Web Vision 2020 social network.

Appreciation And Gratitude

Clay Dyer is happy with what he’s got. “All you need is a Heart, Soul and Mind” he says. Watch this video and learn what true gratitude is.

Bless Clay Dyer for his devotion to life and his ability to overcome the odds and touch others. We can all earn from him and appreciate what we have. There are some things in life we cannot change. Appreciate that, be inspired and make the best of it. Clay certainly has managed to do exactly that!

Success Loves Wealth

May 24th, 2008

I heard this story told by Dr John Demartini. It has a strong message and I found great motivation in it.

Three old wise men walked up to a house and knocked on the door. A lady opened the door and discovered the three men standing there, all with long white beards. The first wise man introduced himself and his 2 friends as Success, Wealth and Love. He asked politely: “Is your husband home?

Sorry“, she answered. “He will be home late tonight

The 3 wise men asked if it was OK to wait until he got home as they had an important message for him. She approved and walked back inside.

Later that night, the husband arrived home. He noticed the 3 men at the back of the house, waiting patiently. When asking his wife who they were and what they wanted, she responded:

They are 3 wise men and they have an important message for you

Well“, he said. “Invite them inside!

She walked outside and invited them inside but they said she could only invite one in at a time. She returned to her husband and he immeditely replied: “Invite Wealth. We need more wealth around here!

The wife responded: “I think we need more Success. Let’s invite him inside

Their teenage daughter appeared and added: “We need more Love in this family! Let’s invite love inside

Both the husband and wife agreed and decided to invite Love inside. The wife walked back outside and invited Love. Love proceeded to walk inside followed by Wealth and Success. Once inside, the family were a bit puzzled. Why had they all come inside when they were instructed that only one could come in at a time?

When asked this question, the wise old man named Love said:

Had you asked for Wealth or Success, only the one you requested would walk in and that is all you get. Wherever Love goes, Wealth and Success follows

Love = Wealth and Success

The moral of this story is apparent. Love is an emotion and it’s even much more than that. It is the most powerful force in the universe. Love can not be destroyed by anyone but the being that holds it in their heart. Live a life of Love and you will be passionate about everything you do. Wealth and Success are a byproduct of Love. It is a reward for your gratitude in life.

Love is much more than a “Hollywood” stereotype of mushy feelings between 2 people. Love is empowering. It is something you feel for someone or something that goes so deep, you cannot explain the origins of it. You can have it for a child, an animal, a lifestyle, a cause, a passion… Gratitude is a product of love or even a precursor for love. Either way. it’s a good place to be.

Have a most outstanding day!

Make Your Life an Adventure

April 15th, 2008

Making your life an adventureIn this crazy thing we call a life, there are a number of things we feel we should do: get married, have children, buy a house, buy a car, be nice to people, etc. But in the end, the only thing that really matters is how happy you are. To help you begin to make your life a happier event, you need to start looking at it as an adventure – not just a ‘To Do’ list.

Growth - Never stop learning

While you might not want to earn another degree (or your first degree), you should be more than willing to learn new things. Read lots of books about subjects that fascinate you. Take classes and try new things. This way, you are always encouraging growth and stimulating your mind and finding out what YOU like to do.

Lifestyle - Travel

Bora Bora island is lifestyleYou don’t need to go to Bora Bora to be well-traveled and experience lifestyle. Just driving around your local area and seeing what your town has to offer is plenty. Just remove yourself from the norm once in a while. Not only it is fun, but you often come back home more appreciative of what you already have. This develops gratitude and a sense of fulfillment. Seeing something new also makes you feel like you’ve achieved a lot more that day.

Gratitude - Meet new people

Too often we feel that we only need so many friends in order to be a good and fun person. But the more people we meet, the more we can learn about our worlds and how others perceive the world to be. Try meeting new people or at least just talking to strangers to keep things interesting. Develop what I call an Attitude Of Gratitude.

Mindset - Do one thing that scares you

Challenge yourself and build mindsetWhile this may have been paraphrased off of a famous person, it’s really good advice and it’s good for building your mindset. By taking a moment each day to do something that just terrifies you, not only will you learn how strong you are, but you will also find yourself trying new things that you thought were far out of your reach and capability.

Celebrate Now Instead of Later

March 26th, 2008

Celebrate your success in advanceA woman once decided to buy a lottery ticket with the last $1 that she had in her purse. And instead of simply going up to the machine, putting in her dollar and scratching off the ticket, she started by jumping up and down and yelling about how great it was that she won. She hadn’t bought the ticket and still celebrated her win. Sure, she looked like a fool to everyone else, but when she later bought a ticket and won $50, she realized that she was onto something. She was building an air of success around her.

Create positive energy

By celebrating your success before you actually have it, you are changing the energy that is around you. Adding more positive feelings to your life will draw in positive things toward you. So, by celebrating something that you want to happen, you are encouraging it to happen. And while you might not get positive results each time you do this, you will find that good things do happen to those who are grateful and excited to have them.

How you can celebrate now:

  1. Buy the size clothes you want to wear when you lose weight
  2. Keep a journal about how great your life is now that you’ve achieved a certain goal (even if you haven’t done it yet)
  3. Put up a sign of the exercise goals you want to reach with a note saying that you’re about to go beyond these goals

Positive energy breeds successYou need to find ways to bring in the energy of possibility into your dreams and your goals. Whether this means calling your friends and telling them that you ARE doing something or if it means that you keep a blog online of the way your life has changed since achieving a certain goal (even when you haven’t yet), you need to shift your mind into a ‘Yes I can‘ mode. And celebrating before you get started is more fun than waiting anyway.

Gratitude For The Malolo Island Bula Band On YouTube

February 14th, 2008

In January 2008, Fiji-time was ingrained into my lifestyle for 2 weeks. My wife and 2 sons came with me to Fiji for the 3rd time since late 2004. That was where it all started for me. I’m referring to my turnaround in thinking and my “demise” of financial worries. Fiji was where I went to my first wealth creation seminar and made tremendous breakthroughs as a human being. A “Lifechanging Event” is what I labeled it as. The turning point that literally catapulted my mindset into territory categorized (by the cynics & skeptics) as impossible or “Too Good To Be True”.

I’ve Always Viewed Cynics With Healthy Skepticism!

Pardon the pun. I guess I would never have been any good in the military. I was never a conformer. The phrase “Court-marshal for disobedience” comes to mind. I don’t know, maybe I would have broken to the system. My lack of dogma, my refusal to take someone else’s word for it, made me try time and time again. I failed over and over. Eventually, I hit pay dirt. It took 37 years and it was right in front of me all along. I was blinded by its presence. It’s all in the mind!

YouTube Message of Gratitude From Malolo Island, Fiji

I filmed this video for you on Malolo Island In Fiji. Watch and hear one of my goals that I set in October 2004 whilst at that very wealth seminar that turned it around for me. It is my absolute utmost feeling of gratitude that makes my world go around. Discover that feeling and you have indeed found the Feeling Of Success.

For 2008, my promise and commitment to you is this:

  1. The Promise: To deliver 3 videos like this on SeanRasmussen.com in 2008. One from each of 3 continents of the world. Tough assignment, I know! But someone has to do it…
  2. Motivation: To share my motivation and insights with you. Hopefully, it rubs off. Maybe you can give me some in return. It’s called Universal Law.
  3. Abundance: To show more abundance and gratitude in 2008 than I have in the previous 40 years of my life.
  4. Charity: To donate more to charity than I have ever dreamt of (prior to acquiring an abundant mindset) :)

Abundance: When Others Zig, I Zag

Whilst in Fiji, I noticed the abundance of happiness amongst the natives. The stress levels seem very low. Yet the lack of money is very apparent. It appears to be the other way around in many countries.

So why do so many people live an average life, while so few have an abundant life? Could it be that the decisions of the “majority” is the recipe for an average life? I’ve changed my thinking to that of the “Minority”. Because it’s the very few that think abundant that have outstanding results, hence they have abundance in their lives.

My results are rolling in now and I have enough to give away to the ones that need more. I learned to Zig when others Zagged. I started to travel the road less travelled. The road to success. And the road to success lies within.

The Malolo Island Bula Band – World First On YouTube

Have a look at this. Meet my friends from Malolo Island: Iliesa on lead guitar, Tevita on drums and Viliame on rhythm guitar. They are The Malolo Island Bula Band playing “Stuck On You” by Lionel Ritchie.

These guys know success. To them it is not monetary. Many Fijians work for the cost of a few cocktails in a 5 star resort, every day. Yet they are happy! They have abundance. Fijians can teach us many things about happiness. Stress is literally unknown to them.

These guys are as honest as the day is long. Bless them all. I filmed them and am sending DVD’s back to the Malolo village so they can all watch The Malolo Island Bula Band in action. There’s more to come. I’m very grateful for meeting them. They are excited to be on YouTube. Some things that others take for granted are a gift from heaven to others.

Sota tale (Fijian for: See you soon). Bula!
