Do You Really Want What You Want?

In my own life, I have had plenty of advice. Much of it has been good. It wasn’t however until I made a conscious effort to be 100% in charge of my own decisons that I experienced The Feeling of Success. My results are the reward of my own efforts and I have no one to blame for anything. No excuses! It’s a good place to be. I’m still grateful, I give credit where it is due and thank plenty of people for their efforts in helping me. I’m still 100% responsible for my own results.

Choose Your Own Dreams

If you stopped for a moment to consider the things you want in your life, you might be surprised at how long the list is. Whether they are things that will improve your lifestyle or that will simply provide you with pleasure, we all want a lot. Some of it, we may never have, but much of it we will if we work hard and focus on those items as goals. Before you start reaching for certain things in your life, take a moment to consider if the things you want are things you actually want.

Too often, we want things…

Because Others Want You to Have It

Our parents and friends mean well, but a lot of the time, they have ideas for our lives that may not be congruent with who we actually are and what we actually want. But if they tell us a number of times that we ‘need’ something or that we actually DO want something, we begin to put those things on our list of necessary achievements. For example, perhaps you don’t want a house and you’re content to live in an apartment. Just because others want you to have a house, and there is plenty of motivation for you to have that house, doesn’t mean that you really want it. Your interpretation of success if probably totally different to that of your family and friends.

Because You Want to Be Like…

Keeping up with the Joneses is something we struggle with on a daily basis. By taking the time to evaluate whether a certain item is something that we actually want for ourselves, we can begin to stop playing catch up and start bringing into our lives the things that really bring us joy. You want your own, truly unique, empowered identity, not the identity of someone else. Someone else will always have something that you want, but that doesn’t mean that you will actually enjoy having it in your life.

Chase The Lifestyle – Not The Achievement

Know what you want. Forget what others want you to have. It’s your life and as long as you stay ethical, your dreams and goals will be yours to enjoy. Stay focused and keep your mind on the end result. Your lifestyle will be much better if you’re doing the things you ‘really’ want to do. Opportunity knocks on everyones door.

Chase your own dreams… Success awaits us all. Accept it when it knocks on your door!

What Is Lifestyle?

I have just spent 3 days with a friend who calls himself a Lifestyle Trader on the stock market. This concept is good and I like the idea of trading whilst not letting it impede on your lifestyle. If we let that happen, then it would just be another JOB. In my quest to spread the word about Success Communication, I will take up the task of discussing the topic of Lifestyle. After all, without lifestyle, life could be pretty mundane. It is also vital to your Sense of Identity.

Can We Change Our Lifestyle?

We’ve all heard the excuses – we’re too tired, too poor, and too busy. No matter what we want to change in our lives, we can come up with dozens of reasons why we just can’t make the necessary adjustments to our lifestyle. It’s not a stretch to begin to think that we actually can’t change our lifestyle, but that’s not completely true. Indeed, we CAN change the way we live in this world, if only we adjust our thinking.

Find Examples Of Success

In my article about The Feeling Of Success, I mentioned that “Success = Gratitude“. Surround yourself with success stories. They can make you feel grateful and will bring great motivation to our personal plans. Whether we want the same things as the successful person or not, by realizing that others have had success and do have success, we can begin to believe that we will too. Search for friends and family members who have had success and ask to hear their stories. You can even write down these stories to have reminders to read when times get a little tougher. Remember, all great ideas start with a dream. Dreams become thoughts and thoughts (combined with action) become reality.

CDI - Consistent Daily Improvement

Too often, we think that change needs to be in leaps and bounds in order to count toward rea’ changes in our lives – but this is far from the case. Think of small ways that you can adjust your lifestyle today. For example, you might want to start by adding in one extra glass of water to your diet each day when your goal is to start eating healthier. In a few weeks, add another glass of water to each day until you reach your goal. These little successes add up to big motivation for your goals. If you improve yourself by 1% every day, you will have a 100% improvement in 100 days. Not bad! That is also referred to as CDI. Consistent Daily Improvement. I learnt this concept from my mentor, Kurek Ashley.

Stay Motivated

There will be times when your motivation wanes and it seems like you will never make the lifestyle changes necessary to become the person you want to be. But just as the bad times come, they will also go. Just continue to persevere and reach the smaller goals that you have set, and your troubles will be gone before you know it. These are times of failure, after all; they’re great times for learning.

Here’s to an improved Lifestyle

Success Communication Blog Update

Things have been busy and lots of fun. My Success Communication Blog hasn’t got the attention it deserves (from me) due to some interstate travel. I like to play with investments like the stock market and property. I say play because it is fun. I went to Sydney to see my friend Mark Rolton last weekend in regards to his specialty: Property Options. In only a few days, I am releasing a website project that I’ve been working on for over 2 years: Wealth Creation Affiliate.  Also, the new look Sean Rasmussen Blog is hopefully online next week. So it’s all happening around here and life is good!

What Is Money, Really?

In my last post I mentioned an Empowered Identity. While attending Mark Roltons property options seminar last week, I felt very much empowered. He went through an exercise about mindset that I will share with you in my next post. It’s called: What Is Money, Really? It was very powerful and I hope you will enjoy it. With an open mind, you will hopefully totally change the way you think about money. In a good way.

Until then… have fun
