Mindset Mastery 184 – Individual Power

Mindset Mastery eBookAlthough the effects of the last lessons were cast wide over an entire nation of people, and also over the entire world in years to come, the power behind that decision-making process and definiteness of action was largely individual. That same individuality is what is going to make you successful in your journey to create wealth.

Personal Benefits Of Power

Note, also, (with great personal benefit), that the power which gave this nation its freedom, is the very same power that must be used by every individual who becomes self-determining. This power is made up of the principles described in this book. It will not be difficult to detect, in the story of the Declaration of Independence, at least six of these principles: desire, decision, faith, persistence, the Master Mind, and Organized Planning.

Throughout this philosophy you will find the suggestion that thought, backed by strong desire, has a tendency to transmute itself into its physical equivalent. Before moving on, Mr. Hill leaves you with the suggestion that it is possible to find in this story, and in the story of the organization of the United States Steel Corporation, a perfect description of the method by which thought makes this astounding transformation.

The Search For The Secret

In your search for the secret of the method, don’t look for a miracle, because you will not find it. You will find only the eternal laws of Nature. These laws are available to every person who has the faith and the courage to use them. They may be used to bring freedom to a nation, or to accumulate wealth. There is no cost except the time necessary to understand and appropriate them.

Those who reach decisions promptly and definitely know what they want, and generally get it. The leaders in every walk of life decide quickly, and firmly. That is the major reason why they are leaders. The world has the habit of making room for the person whose words and actions show that he or she knows where he or she is going.

Know Where You Are Going

Definiteness of purpose and decision—those are the lessons Napoleon Hill wants us to take away here. When you think through your goals and plans, know where you are going and decide to take the steps forward to get there, you are an unstoppable force in the event of your life. Be the leader that knows where your life is heading—and enjoy the ride!

It is important to be disciplined and self- determined as Sean Rasmussen says. I had no idea that what Sean quoted “It will not be difficult to detect, in the story of the Declaration of Independence, at least six of these principles: desire, decision, faith, persistence, the Master Mind, and Organized Planning.” As I have read the lessons of Napoleon Hill and The Law of Attraction I have learned the Laws of the Universe. What is the Law of Attraction formula? There are just a few basic steps.

    1. Ask-You must be very clear on exactly what your desire is.
    2. Source says YES!
    3. Allow It-Focus on it. Give it all your positive energy. Visualize and raise your vibration about it. Make a Vision Board as I do, it works if you work it!
The Law of Attraction is the energy and vibrations of our emotions and feelings. Any thought you may have, when combined with emotion, vibrates out from you to the universe and will attract back what you want.
You can leave all the details to the universe. Let the Universe figure out the method of delivery, when you will receive it, etc. Now all you have to do is Allow It. Sounds easy, right? This can be the most difficult part of the Law of Attraction process. Be doubt-free. All you need to do is expect it. Act like you already have it. Be grateful.

  2. I’m using this method in its fullest right now. I see it work constantly and am so thankful I have learned it when I could understand and appreciate it.

While I use my desire for a magnificent family, long term career in writing, and the ability to help others reach their own goals my decision to continue working at everything, taking time daily to accomplish goals is paying off. The faith and persistence I am discovering within myself, the Master Mind I have to prove to others I can do it with my Organized Planning is not only making a great life for me and my family but my extended family and friends.

My clearest example of this is happening right now as I continually attract voters to a contest to get my son on the cover of a Canadian magazine (please click on my link at the end of this post for more details). I submitted his picture late but have climbed to the leading position and have been consistently ahead by 50. I envision buying the copy of the magazine with my son on the cover, see my son playing with the toys I will win and attract the voters necessary for this to happen.

When it does it’ll be more proof to the people I know who doubt its powers.
.-= Sarah Butland´s last blog ..I Am Attracting You and Your Vote Via Law Of Attraction =-.

  3. The problem I find in today’s world is that there is too much choice. Too much choice leads to indecision which leads to people wasting time and being unsure as to what they really want. I would much prefer to go shopping for 30 minutes and make a choice I’m happy with rather than searching for a bargain for weeks to come and then confusing myself with comparing one thing to the next. Life is much simpler if you can make a decision and stick to it.

Here is an example of everyday decisions, leadership and making choices. There is a dinner for 10 people, you can ask those 10 people where they want to go and be given 10 answers and then have to decide knowing many of the people will now be unhappy you are not going with their choice, OR you could be a leader and make the choice yourself before inviting them and not giving them the choice to confuse the process. I promise you the latter path will help the night run much smoother.
    .-= Chris Bellesini´s last blog ..25 – The Wayward Sports Star =-.

    • I agree Chris. More choice doesn’t necessarily equate to being more empowered because we have more to “choose” from!!

I know I have been caught buying tissues – way too many choices and 30 minutes later I ended up buying tissues that I normally buy anyway. All I was trying to do was save a few cents! I have come to detest choice!!

I saw an interview recently & a chap spoke about in the “old” days he could walk into a jeans store & simply buy a pair. Now, he as “50” choices… skinny leg, boot cut, stone washed, etc.

It’s bizarre too that there is way too many headache pills to choose from.

I think society has gone out of control!!!
.-= Samantha Banfield´s last blog ..Sean Rasmussen and his crazy talk! =-.

    • I agree 100%. So many times I’ve tried to organize an outing at work with a team of 20 or so people. Thinking I’d get more response by offering a choice of locations I was dumbfounded to turn people off of the idea instead as they couldn’t make up their minds.

When I just came out and said this is what we’re doing people showed up and had a good time.

This just goes to show that you do need to be selfish sometimes, spend a little extra and get the thing done so you’re not wasting time on indecision.
.-= Sarah Butland´s last blog ..I Am Attracting You and Your Vote Via Law Of Attraction =-.

      • A problem of too much choice? Having choice – and a lot of it – is a good thing. It’s a privilege that we have so many choices. Try telling a mother, in a poor country, who can’t feed her child that having too many choices is a problem. The problem is not abundant choices, it’s how we choose to look at them, solve them and use the resources available to us in wealthy nations to deal with them.
.-= Lina Nguyen´s last blog ..Blog comments on steroids =-.

        • Well said Lina – we are so lucky yet in many circumstances we choose to ignore the opportunities that are handed to us on a platter.
          .-= Lisa´s last blog ..Baby Sign for Puppy – A Dad’s Story =-.

        • Wow – The Individual Power of my 8 month old son was just experienced as he disconnected my Internet while submitting a long, and if I do say so myself, wise filled comment. I guess I’ll try it again and apologize if it’s not as wise as I just had it. lol

I do agree that choice is something that makes us human and helps us stand out but I also agree too much choice is threatening and redundant.

Take for example the headache pills mentioned previously, I believe pharmaceutical companies could make more money researching new cures than different cures. IE Instead of focusing on making a new headache pill cheaper or causing a different effect than another one.

School uniforms are another controversial aspect of individual power. I often think we have too many choices on what to wear each morning when time would be better spent showing who we are with actions, thoughts and ideas.

On the other hand, so many people depend on their attire to show who they are but is this right? Is this the best way to show the world who we are? Some people think so because it’s a decision they are making to where what they want when they want.

I, for one, would rather wear the same thing every day and spend my time on commenting on Sean’s site lol. In all seriousness, I’d rather be told what to wear and appreciate the freedom of my actions than focus on choosing how I look.

  4. Ask for what you want not what you think you could get, if you ask for less that is what you will get.
How many times have you done something for someone else and they have asked how much do I owe you and you have felt it was worth a lot more but you toll them less?
    Know Your WORTH

    • I fully agree Rita.
If you limit yourself already with what you ask for because this is what you think is the maximum you can “realistically” get, then you just limit your own power.
And selling yourself short because you are worried that others could be offended is not good. You can decide to give someone a special because you feel you want to do that. But always be conscious of your worth.
.-= Renee´s last blog ..Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind – Part 2 =-.

      • Right back at you both Renee & Rita…

I have been listening to co-workers discussing their beliefs that “everyone has a mean streak in them & if you don’t be a mean person people will walk all over you.” They seem to have such low expectations about life that I wonder where it all went wrong for them. But for some reason they feel “good” about agreeing as a group that this is “how life is.”

I am so grateful for what I have & believe that life is great because of the gifts I have. And there are so many wonderfully positive YOTA-ites who are all individuals with their own unique gifts to share that help me to decide who I choose to show up as.

Just as Sean says – “choose your council.” Surround yourself with people who will hold you up to a higher standard. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

No more limiting myself any longer! New statement – I am setting and achieving realistic goals for myself. Each goal is more challenging than the last!!
.-= Samantha Banfield´s last blog ..Sean Rasmussen and his crazy talk! =-.

        • So true, Samantha “surround yourself with people who will hold you up to a higher standard”. I heard once, and believe it to its fullest sense, that you should only surround yourself with people more intelligent than you, that way you always give them respect as you’re always learning from them.

I admire Sean for getting such a group together in this forum as I’m learning so much from everyone and admiring the individual examples of how they perceive and utilize the law of attraction.
.-= Sarah Butland´s last blog ..I Am Attracting You and Your Vote Via Law Of Attraction =-.

        • Hi Samantha,

the problem with your colleagues is that they will experience exactly that – people will walk all over them if they are not mean. Because this is what they expect and what they will signal to everybody else. Sad but true.
I am also very happy that I found Sean to “kick me in the butt” and take action to get what I want in my life. Tks Sean 🙂

  5. The Power to have is within, to tap into that inner powe and realise it, is within all of us. The secret shows us how to attract all that we want, and all that we need, along with Visualization – then the world is within your finger tips. Dream Big, See it and feel it and soon your life will be all you are after and more. I have being using Visualization to achieve results in my life and it works. Every single day I am getting closer and closer to achieving life long goals, making new ones and again achieving them – all thanks to the Secret. I have signs in and around my house that I see as I walk past them “Faith”, “love”, “Believe”, “Trust”, “Family”….with each sign I keep on track and know what I need to be doing to achieve the most out of life.
That’s the power within us all.

  6. Knowing that you have the power to achieve whatever you set your mind to, is one of the most powerful knowledge you can possess.
I have had this knowledge is some areas of my life, but since becoming aware of this principle and applying to other areas, I’ve begun to move more swiftly towards my goals. Although the results haven’t materialize as yet, I know I’m on the right track an much closer.
It is one of the most calming knowledge to have, that you can achieve your goal before you even start.
This knowledge is what sets the good from the great in all aspects of life.

      • Hi Cemil. Although I believe you should appreciate what got you to where you are I think it’s a waste of precious time to dwell on it and wonder where you would be if you’d done it differently. Instead, appreciate your history for what it is, the steps you took to bring you to where you are and keep moving forward to becoming happier. History is there for you to create today and not try to analyze to wonder if you’d be someone where else.

I’m so thrilled each day to be who I am, have who I love and appreciate what I have. The steps I took to get here are interesting and a wonderful reflection yet are inconsequential because I’ve made it and have so much more journey to look forward to.

  8. “Those who reach decisions promptly and definitely know what they want, and generally get it. ”
Henry Ford was one of these persons. I knew that being able to reach decisions promptly is a great virtue, but only now it has clicked – if you know what you want it is totally easy to see what decision is the right one for you.

  9. Our fore fathers and mothers had a tremendous power to give us the life we have to day. Our life gives us the power to enrich each one of us to be better people .

  10. It’s hard to be positive in one whole day; it’s far more difficult to be positive the whole year through. But I’m determined to be positive in my entire life as it makes me feel like I can surmount all odds.

    • It’s only hard if you believe it’s hard Cordelyn. It’s a challenge to be entirely positive the “whole year though.” We are all human – but when you have an off day – and I can tell you I get alot of those because I am terribly human, the very first thing I do is FORGIVE MYSELF. It’s imperative – when you forgive yourself you can forgive others. You are also giving yourself love & compassion which you can then give to others.

Read Sean’s blogs about decisions… it is as simple as that! I have had a shocking year since May last year – and when I say shocking I really mean a bloody terrible bastard shite of a year… and that’s putting it lightly. BUT I have made some decisions! I knew I could not go on the way I was – I had 2 choices. One – down the spiral of self hatred & destruction or Two – follow my true passion of comedy & use my experiences to inspire my wacky sense of humour.

I have chosen the later. I have also decided to immerse myself in the comedy world. As I get ready for work in the morning I have The Comedy Channel on & listen to the stand-up comics. What a great way to lift the spirits, inspire my comedy & the most fantastic way to start the day. I make sure during the day I read something that’s humurous as well and in the evenings touch base again with some more comedy. I don’t rigidly stick to it but I never go without a day without comedy. It has created such difference in my life – I will never see the world the same.

The other important aspect to my life is Internet Marketing – being part of Sean Rasmussen’s YOTA and being a part of that fantastic community of like-minded positive people.

This all rounds off, with some funny edges of course, my chosen path in this life.

I believe in you Cordelyn! What is your passion – what lights your fire?? What can you do everyday that will impress upon you how wonderful you are?

I am looking forward to seeing your light shine!!

      • Hi Sam

You are being that which you want to become. Every day, a tap dripping water on a rock eventually wears a groove in it. You are conditioning yourself positively.

    • Samantha is right and I attracted this video this morning before reading your article. The first part is a bit unusual but keep listening, it’s what you need to hear. I would try to explain it but it’s already done for me and for you right here:

  12. The world has the habit of making room for the person whose words and actions show that he or she knows where he or she is going – This is so important to understand.

  13. Danny Younes says:

People you don’t reach decisions promptly in fact don’t believe they can achieve the desired result. They procrastinate and some time down the track when they know of somebody else achieving what they wanted to achieve, they start beating themselves up. The following is a poem from Think & Grow Rich which is very fitting:

“If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win, but you think you can’t,
It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out in the world we find,
    Success begins with a fellow’s will –
It’s all in the state of MIND.

If you think you’re outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

    Life’s battles, don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man
But soon or later the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!”

I live by this poem on a daily basis. If I reach a decision that I know is right for me, nothing will stop me, not even the negative influences of friends and family. I always have my eye on the prize.

  14. Thanks for sharing Danny. Basically, whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.

  15. I agree Sean that decision makers are Leaders, I just wonder though how much dedication, committment and focus it takes to stay on track to achieving all that we really need for success in wealth creation? AND, at the risk of seeming sexist, is it harder for a woman than for a man or rather is it harder for a woman who has ‘mother” obligations, than it is for a man, who still, despite social changes, is largely usually the breadwinner, and usualky the one freed up to travel, pursue goals etc. These are just thoughts rather than statements.

    • I understand that this may be the norm – for the woman with motherly duties to find it harder to be themselves – but it’s possible to balance both.

When my husband and I decided to have our first child I knew it would give me the time to concentrate on my writing. With a full year off to raise a child I set my goal to finish my novel and I did it within three months of being off. I know what I want to do, I know being a writer is who I am despite the difficulties out there to succeed with so much competition. I took the doubts of all my peers who thought I’d be too exhausted, too busy with my son to get anything done for myself.

My son is first in my life of course but I refuse to lose myself to motherhood.

      • I agree with Sarah. If you know what you want you will make it happen. And then motherhood can even be supportive. It all depends on what it is you want to achieve.

I am not sure if it is easier or harder on man or woman, as we are talking about wealth creation, not just money and having a job. You can also argue that it is harder for a man to follow his ideas in case they are not going along the ‘usual’ lines. Then he get’s under pressure to be the reliable bread winner but wanting to pursue his dream. That can also be very hard.
.-= Renee´s last blog ..Wealth Creation – What is Wealth? =-.

        • That’s it. We talked about my husband having part of our year allotment off to spend with our son but I knew what I wanted to do during my year off. I had specific goals and he is still trying to maintain focus on what it is he wants to do. With specific reachable goals but no time to accomplish them I thought it was justified that I take the whole year.

I completely support whatever he decides to do which may be the problem. No matter how many directions he turns I’m with him 100% but he keeps turning. Maybe he’s testing me but maybe he’s lost.

    Hi Sean,

This is such powerful advice. Once we have that definiteness of purpose and actually know what we want to achieve, the other principles will come into play.

But, if we don’t know first what we want to achieve, it kind of makes it hard to achieve it.

    • Hi Jazz,
I agree. If I don’t know where I want to go I can walk around for a long time without getting anywhere. It might not be a bad walk, but not very satisfying. But once I know my destination (eg I want to go to Germany to visit my family) I can start all the right actions and will get there at the time I want.
Sounds so easy but sometimes I trick myself and make it extra hard. Kind of stupid, isn’t it?

Definiteness of purpose and decision. Once you have your purpose and made your decision the next step is to take definite action.

I know that if my purpose is clear and I have made a decision to go for it, it’s easy.
If it feels hard to even make a decision, I need to stop and think about my purpose again.
